Nice work on that clamp.
Not that I need one, but how much might you sell that piece for ?
Not to mention the rearsets that you made.

As far as not having any spark, I assume you had spark before you took the bike apart.
Unless you damaged your converter or the ECM while welding on the bike without disconnecting them first, or not having the welder's ground clamp properly attached, simply retrace your steps and you might just find the cause for your spark problem, such as an unplugged connector etc.

Can't wait to see the finished bike.

This is going to be one hot VTR. Can't wait to see it finished. Hopefully you'll get your electrical work sorted soon.

Rama Jan 21, 2010 12:47 AM

When i worked in the frame, I disconnect the frame from the engine and the rest of the bike...

For a couple of triplee clamps "at measure" the cost is near 350/400€... but this is a forced choice, because the offset of the Brembo racing brake disks was greater than the original, so I have to increase the distance of the fork legs.

Rama Jan 28, 2010 02:32 PM

In waiting of the triplee clamps, a new modified and stiffened frame... when it's finish, I want to paint in opaque black...

Excellent. Wish I had the skills.

Rama Jan 30, 2010 08:12 AM

Another update.... i work in all piece of the bike in the same time, so whit the pics was difficult to know at what point is the bike and how many far was the end of the works on it....

http://photos-d.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos..._3958147_n.jpg

This is the first part of the fairing near to the finish... i have to attach other stickers and spray whit the trasparent paint....

I want to make the upper fairing in white, similar to the RC51... what do you think about?!?!

mikstr Jan 30, 2010 08:28 AM

This is an amazing project!!!!!!

Rama Jan 31, 2010 02:26 PM

Other pict... now i have only to spray the transparent pain on this parts of fairing...

http://photos-a.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos..._2985107_n.jpg

And a update of the triplee clamp... this is the lower, to finish, but...

Toootally impressing. you have awsome skills really!

Are you going to anodize the clamps yourself? Im playing around with that aswell. And i cant make the colors stick to the things im trying to anodize. If youre doing it youself. Maybe you could help us out with an anodizing" how to" one Day?..
Keep the pictures coming...

Rama Jan 31, 2010 05:03 PM

No, i don't want to risk my new clamps whit "did it yourself" anodization...
I'm sorry!

finepooch Jan 31, 2010 05:31 PM

What type of Golden paint have you used for the Engine .. Nice color.

Rama Feb 18, 2010 05:22 PM

Simply a golden spray color, and finished whit transparent... thanks for the compliments!

zmaniv Feb 18, 2010 05:32 PM

Just wondering why you didn't reinforce the cast pieces of the frame, and also make the extensions to the swing arm?

Rama Feb 18, 2010 06:11 PM

I ask to Roger D. and other people have raced whit the SH what's better to reinforced, and where... so i've decided to reinforce only some parts of the frame...
I hav'nt understand exactly what you mean whit "cast pieces"... sorry for my english...
For the swingarm, I've to decided what make... but whit the Ohlins shock i can't make a upper braced mods... so i've to reassembly the frame, the shock, and understand how many space i've for working in the swingarm... and how can I work!

Rama Feb 20, 2010 02:36 PM

...and the work of today...

Reinstalled the frame and mounthed the new Ohlins damper...

http://photos-d.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos..._2438743_n.jpg

And finish each the oil radiator...

zmaniv Feb 20, 2010 04:25 PM

What Ohlins shock is that? Was it customized to fit?

toy4xchris Feb 20, 2010 04:28 PM

That looks awesome.

Tweety Feb 21, 2010 12:14 AM

Rama, for the swingarm, you can always sling the brace underneath, where it won't interfere with the shock at all...

By "reinforcing the cast" thya mean, that on some race bikes there have been reinforcements going out from the rear of the frame to connect to the swingarm bolt... I have a picture on another computer... I'll post later...

Rama Feb 21, 2010 04:31 AM

Zmaniv, yes, it's a shock for Aprilia RSV and customized to fit (you can see the spacer from the frame to the shock)

Toy4xchris, thanks!

Tweety, yes, i've many space for brace the swingarm...
and for the "cast" reinforcing i've understand what means now... ;-)

hawxter996 Feb 21, 2010 05:14 AM

Rama

i hope you are planning to rotate your shock 90 degrees.
the way the top mount is will cause you trouble.

looking good so far!

Gilson Feb 21, 2010 07:36 AM

Nice work Rama, looking forward to seeing this finished...and some pictures on the track!

Where in Italy are you from and where's your nearest track?

Rama Feb 21, 2010 10:02 AM

Yes, the shock now is 90 degrees (but now I have some problems to fit the tail...)

http://photos-b.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos..._1534368_n.jpg

I've each painted in red the heads... :evillaugh:

gilson, i'm from Arezzo, near Florence, and the nearest track are Mugello (!!!) and Magione... but each Imola, Vallelunga and Misano are all at 2 hours whit car...

Rama Feb 21, 2010 03:13 PM

Some pics whit the new frame in black, and whit the heads painted in red...

Man that looks awesome! I'm thinking that next winter I'll do something like that to my hawk, the painting and such, not the mods, no skills here:( but I sure like the red heads and black frame
