My 2004 Superhawk

I just picked it up a couple of days ago. It's an '04 with only 3500 miles on it. I paid $5000 for it. It's got a few little things here and there but it's mostly stock. The pipes have had the baffles removed but thats it. You can see in the pics what all's been changed. It's got stiffer springs, heli bars, a hard wired battery charger and garage door opener and all the factory parts.

I love this bike! I've been looking so long for nice Hawk I can't believe I found one this nice so close. Anyway, I've already ordered my Jardin black high mounts, K&N and a Dynojet kit. Anyway, here are some crappy night pics I took. I'll get it cleaned up this weekend and take some better ones.

Congrats on the purchase! Gold wheels look tits.

mkimber 03-08-2007 07:28 PM

I'm not sure if I like them or not. I might have them powder coated black when I need new tires this summer, who knows.

marmaladedad 03-08-2007 09:28 PM

Might be easier to find a Superhawk owner who's willing to trade wheels. Crap, if I had my Superhawk still, I'd trade with you in a heartbeat.

Where are you from?

azhawk1 03-08-2007 10:01 PM

I'll trade my blacks in a second:)

mkimber 03-09-2007 05:28 AM

I live in Arlington, TX. Yeah, I might keep them also, haven't made up my mind yet.

Birdoprey 03-09-2007 05:57 PM

is that a FZR back there? 600 or, ohmygawd, 400 ?

EngineNoO9 03-09-2007 05:59 PM

if I still had my superhawk I would've traded in a second for the gold wheels

mkimber 03-09-2007 06:11 PM

yeah, it's a FZR 600 with an airtech kit on it. it doesn't get used much now.

Thanks for all the nice comments. I just got finished installing my exhaust tonight. I think I'll leave the passenger pegs on just for the protection if the bike is ever on it's side. They should protect the pipes as far as they stick out. It's a lot louder but smoother at the same time. Should sound even better once they are heat cycled a few times. Too bad it was raining so no road tests yet. I did notice once the bike warmed up that it didn't rev up as smooth as before. I'm not sure if the pipes need time to break in or if the mixture is off now. I do have a Dynojet kit ready to install and my K&N should be here this week. What do you guys think? I know it looks 10 times better for sure.

If it was "Arlington, VA" I'd drive my black wheels to you and install them. ;)

sweet bike

YellowHawk 03-16-2007 09:24 AM

Hey mKimber!

I have a '99 with black wheels, I would like some gold ones if yer willing. I live in Watauga, Tx. Nice windscreen. The black is cooollll....

mkimber 03-16-2007 05:06 PM

Thanks, but I've decided to keep the bling. Hey, we need to go out for a ride sometime. I've also got a friend with an '01. That'd be cool to see 3 Hawks together, I'm sure that doesn't happen very often.

YellowHawk 03-17-2007 07:19 AM

Well, ok...
We do need to get together and ride sometimes. Mine is currently down for maintenance for about another week and a half. It's killing me with all of the nice weather too....
:(

firestorm'n 03-17-2007 08:37 AM

I have a fondness for the gold wheels myself. Now that the bike is out of the basement I'll get some pics up on the site. 70 deg. in Neb. tomorrow.

Led taillight

Thought I'd just show some pics of my led taillight I installed. I like it much better than the turn signals that were on before. It's much easier to see. I also did some cutting to make the undertail a little cleaner. Don't mind the dirty bike, I got caught in a little shower today coming home.

windscreen?

What kind of windscreen is that? It looks like a double bubble but is it Zero Gravity or Puig or something else? Bike looks great!

434josh 02-21-2008 09:22 AM

mkimber,

We'll have to get together. We have twin bikes except my jardine's are polished alum. I live in denton, just a few miles from you.

BlackHawk04 05-17-2008 05:11 AM

Nice '04. I can't wait to chuck my Gold wheels. I have two charcoal wheels waiting to go on, but i have been in lie till my tires wear out.
Don't take this wrong but with those fancy high side pipes & frame sliders, there seems to be an order of chicken strips and ranch asking to be comsumed. I should have an excuse being here in Oregon but in texas well you know I can't see it. At least everytime I ave been to texas it made the word dry seem lacking in description. But alas you may disregard coming from a webfoot, (Beaver that is..... not Duck)

KC-10ENG 05-17-2008 07:23 AM

If you bought a Subaru then you could have two rides with Gold wheels! HEHE

whytey 05-17-2008 02:39 PM

Wheels

Nice pipes , and bike . Imo dont do the wheels black it ,s just to much black , and with the rest of the shiny stuff you ,ve got on the bike black wheels will take away the look .

cljackson99 05-17-2008 06:31 PM

Nice looking bike. I especially like what you did with the license plate and the seat lock. Any tricks or tips to doing it? I've been trying to figure out how to clean up the arse end of my Hawk and I think I'd like to try the same set up as yours.

Also, where'd you get the taillight? I've seen them on Ebay and was wondering if that's the same kind. Thanks.

Laynout 05-17-2008 06:40 PM

The black Jardine's look great. It's one of the best pipe to bike color(black) that I have seen. I'd keep the wheels and rock'um loud and proud! It's what makes an '04 unique!

mkimber 05-23-2008 05:49 AM

Thanks for all the compliments guys! I'm definately keeping the gold wheels just for the unique factor. I get plenty of compliments for the way it looks now. :D

Blackhawk04, no chicken strips here sir. Those are the tires from the previous owner. I've since put 2cts on it and the little michelin men are getting worn off the edge. Don't know what the rest of your post means, but sounds like your not too fond of us texans.
