'98 Firestorm, icon speedmetal style
Hey all,
So I finally got to bring her home yesterday. She's a '98 VTR (here in Japan of course, a Firestorm, not SH) with a couple goodies and some graphics. About 37,xxx kms, manual CCT, 2nd gen r/r, etc.
This is my first VTR, but not my first twin. I grew up on an 05 SV650S, then stepped up to an 08 1125R, had a beater 04 R6 for a bit, then got rid of both and came to Japan. I would have kept the 1125 but was told I couldn't put it on the road here (I now know I could have).
Since I've been here I've had a '91 SRX 400 (great little bike), an 01 CBR600f4i Rossi edition (got it for a WICKED deal), and a 97 CB400 S (Super Four).
I have been fiending for a twin and have been looking for a bike with soul, and to be honest never knew about VTR's. A local shop (AFG Moto) had this one come in as the owner was moving on to an RC8, and I was in the right place at the right time.
Here are some pics, I gotta get to bed but I'll post more details tomorrow.
Loving all the info here, hope to be a VTR owner for years and years to come, she's amazing!

Thanks for all the welcomes!
OY, the 1125 was a much better bike IMO. Shorter wheelbase, more power, lower center of gravity, etc. It also had some wicked gremlins though. If you find one that's sorted, it's a beast! I loved the slipper clutch, short crisp shifts, and unique appearance. It's not for everyone, but I loved it.
That said, I'm certainly not beating up on my FS. The buell is ten years newer, so that helps. I'm sure a lot of you guys could ride circles around me if I were on an 1125 and you on your SH. Different bike, I loved the buell, and and falling in love w the super chicken
Thanks for the link 7m, Gordon definitely had a better picture spot
Wolverine, correct. Mostly all vinyl
