Re: 2001 VTR1000F Pics

I have the same Jardines on my 98 Superhawk, and I love them. They sounds awesome... loud, but not too loud. I rode with the slipons and stock jetting for a while, and there was a very noticeable flat spot between 3000 and 3500 rpm. But just the weight savings alone was incredible.

Last year I finally rejetted the carbs, and it made all the difference in the world. I gained 7 hp in the mid-range, and the flat spot is all gone. The difference between stock and the pipes/jetting was just incredible.

For the money, I highly recommend them.

The Jardines are great. Just what I wanted, high mounts and rear pegs. I got 'em used for around $500 from eBay and installed them before I got 500KM on the clock.
They sound much better than stock, loud (I leave for work at 6:30AM) but not obnoxious. No coating on the header, must be the lighting.

not to burst your bubble, but you can order those pipes directly from Jardine for around $430.

They are great though, that's for sure.

I purchased the Jardines with the rest of the stock exhaust system, for somewhere around $500 bucks Canadian. The exact number escapes me.
