    98VTR,

I'm a novice bike mechanic, most I've ever done is change my oil and put aftermarket exhausts on prior bikes. any way I'm interested in learning more. If you need an extra set of hands at the shop free of charge let me know. I want to become confident enough to do most work myself.

I have a question and think I'll probably get flamed if I put it in the main section. About the PAIR removal, what is the benefit? I'm asking because I just got a VFR 1200 and wonder if that's the thing to do? VFR sites say it's good, it's bad, it's a waste of time but the block off plates aren't readily available so it's not nearly as universal a fix as the SUPERHAWK guys consider it. There's some catalytic crap under there also. I'm almost afraid to sit on this bike, let alone thrash it when the weather changes. Any opinions? I look forward to many miles ridden this coming year, so maybe we'll finally meet up as I travel the Falls Rd. area quite a lot. Thanx Sheldon Lewis P.S. My brother still has the Hawk and loves riding it.

Don't know if you check out STREETFIGHTERS magazine, but this month there's a gorgeous 'Hawk as the centerfold. No fairings, really nice.

Hi. I was looking at a site "roadstercycle.com" that sells mosfet whatsits in a fairly complete kit for about $140. What do you think about them? Sound like a good deal?

I worry that the cam chain is too tight? Maybe it has manual cct's and I don't know it. But it's a noticeable noise. Sheldon

Hi. Just want to ask another question. Still don't have my hawk on the road but when it's running, it whines? Yours do that? It sounds like a blower drive on a car? Sheldon

Hey man! Check the group ride section. Got a nice route planned for this Sat. 10/16. It would be cool to have another hawk in the herd. Tim
