Does anyone else have a few creators or performers whose work they consistently enjoy? I find myself returning to the same names over and over again. It’s not even intentional — I just recognize them and know what to expect. Is that just a natural habit, or should I try to branch out more?

It strikes me that this echoes how people choose their meals at a restaurant. Many of us will always stick to one or two dishes on the menu that we know we like, rather than trying something new. It's less risky and far more predictable. So perhaps our viewing habits are not isolated. It’s likely that we approach many aspects of our lives with the same tendency towards familiar comforts.
