SoCal Riders

Ok All you southern Californian Hawk and other rider brothers, sisters, mothers. It is prime time riding season and we all need to get together.

No politicking, no fist fighting, no drinking and riding. lets see if we can get enough of us together to make it worth the time. at least 10 of us.

if there is any interest just reply here or pm. if some one on the forum already has a group they ride with please post it and the rules so any other SoCal riders can tag along if they are willing.

Thank you in advance. this has been a public service announcement by your resident Nut Case.

It is always hard for me to "schedule" a ride. Work is too unpredictable.

With enough advance notice on the date (2-3 weeks), I'm in. For me, Saturday's are for riding and Sunday's are for church.

i would like too see one of the experienced riders really lead. i do not mind organizing something though with some suggestions from people who would like to go on a ride and maybe eat some decent lunch or dinner type of thing.

i would be fine playing contact person for every one and mapping the stuff.

any one have any suggestions on a route? a starting point? a ride length. any preference on a stopping place to eat or even a suggestion on the food style?

i am open to suggestions.

I think we'd need to have a general idea of what areas riders are coming from first. If most are from West LA / Hollywood, then it makes more sense to ride on that side of SoCal. If the majority are from the IE, then maybe something like a coastal ride along Coast Highway (Oceanside to San Diego) or mountain ride (Hemet to Idyllwild to Banning: 74-243-I10) or out to Julian for lunch. I would like to limit it to 75-100 miles. More input?

i hear alot of good stuff about julian and the pie company out there. a afternoon of riding and pie would be absolutely perfect. or a coast ride with a steak. i am in the inland area. but wherever is ok

Checking in from San Diego. I usually ride with a group on meetup.com but a hawk specific (+guests) ride would be cool. Plenty of great routes down this way, I can help with route planning and lunch stops but anyone down here with experience will know all the good roads too. I'm a mid-level rider.

Count me in as well but I will be out of town till the 1st.
I am also down in San Diego area however a 200+ mile ride is not uncommon for me to do.

ok cool this is shaping up. i would be coming on my super hawk and im sure my riding buddy a yamaha 600 will be tagging along. so there will be two of us. neither one will be two up riding. There are a couple people i talk to locally with super hawks but have not rode with yet but i am sure those guys would come along too..

if every one could post how many in their group would be coming along maybe we can actually do something soon.

Me for sure, possibly with a son on the back. (Have to flip a coin to decide which one gets to go, since the one who doesn't get to go will be really ticked off!) 99% chance also a friend on an '05 R1. 50% chance of another friend on another R1.

If it's going to be LA+SD riders, it's gotta be somewhere in between, which limits choices, like Ortega hwy. I at least don't want to ride 2-3 hours to get to the start of an LA ride nor would I expect the same from that end.
