caltrans has been working on ortega for the last couple of years widening the lanes and the shoulders. i dont know when its going to be finished? i have been wanting to ride in the oceanside, san diego areas but i dont know that area. give me a address of where you want to meet up and you can pick the road you want to ride.

Do you mind driving a ways to get here? If your center in moreno valley its like a 50 mile trip here. And have you ever ridden palomar? If you dont mind the drive what kinda trip do you wanna ride? twisties or scenic? half and half? and when do you wanna meet? Im all for the early before it gets to hot but after the suns up so all the shaded spots get a chance to warm up and the cagers can get the debris off the road.
I didnt the map quest for you to ride down here and up 76 to east grade then down south grade of palomar is about 160 miles for you.
if we made the trip longer and went 76w to 79s to 78e down banner grade to the S2 n then around to the 79 go back south get on the 76 west take it to east then south grade of palomar mountian then back to the 76/15 jnt says its a 2 1/2 hour ride. anyways let me know
AND WHO ELSE WANTS TO JUMP IN!!

i fine with that route and dont mind the ride to oceanside. i could go for half and half twisties/scenic because i never seen the palomar area and i just got new EBC HH pads and there not broken in enough to push too hard. if we are still up for it when that rides over, we can take the 5n to ortega and when in elsinore you can take the 15s back to oceaside. ortega is suposedto be open during the day and a few spots down to one lane.

I was thinking of a Dawn Patrol in the Malibu ALPs saturday morning if anyone was interested. We could meetWestlake side at the same coffee shop as last time at say 7:00 am for a steaming cup of something hot.
Westlake side would then be out decker and up lower scyamore to test the suspension again!
PM me if your interested.
I did my 400 mile day last saturday, this should be a one tank or so morning.

ok to keep it a good mix and check out the moutnian area we can take the 76 east get on the 79 south to 78 east down banner grade to the S2 take that north back to the 79 go south to the 76 take that west and if you want or think the pads are ready we can take palomar. without palomar its like 117mi
whatever time is good for you thought we can meet at the gas station west side of the 15 at the 15/ 76 junction

If you take that route going west, be careful of the new asphalt below the construction. Its REAL bumpy in some of the right handers. A good test for the VTR suspension.
