Richmond, VA Riders!

If anyone else is lurking around central VA, there is a bike night at the Lonestar on 250 in Short Pump on Thursday evenings. Its a good place to meet up with free appetizers and cheap beer. I will probably be there tonight on the "other Vtwin". Come out and meet some good people!

How bout tomorrow 7/26 for a ride? You could meet us somewhere along the way, we should be riding around Nelson somewhere. We'll probably be eating lunch at the Lovingston Cafe around 11am. 540-226-0395 if you want to go.

A few of us from Richmond (including Hotbrakes) made it over to the mountains on 7/26, as advertised. Ran 56, 60, the BRP & a few other backroads. Always glad to hook up with the locals & learn some new roads.

If you would like to transform your riding experience for $20, go to Borders and get Total Control. I rode for many years and after reading that book I started having fun. Do a trackday too, that is the most fun you will ever have in your life!

Sunday 11/16. 0930 522 and 711. Doing the group thing with some Viffers from Manassas area and I'm going to show them a good ride. Steve? We may need another leader for 2 groups if we have enough people.

Another good ride brought to you by L8RGYZ. I don't know where we went, and we definitely did some circles, but it was a ride that clears your mind and cold symptoms better than any medicine.

Yeah, we got back after dark. But saw no deer. Just a lot of hunters. We didn't ride in the mountains, but at least we saw them.

Guess we'll ride again today.

Damn, another great ride but a little colder than yesterday. I think it was about 150 miles for most of us.

Dammit! I just saw a Superhawk ride by in the pouring rain and I'm stuck at work. You know what they say...A bad day fishing is better than a good day at work!

Why not?

We went thru Palmyra on Friday around 2pm. You didn't hear us? Two Super Hawks & a Duc. Monster. Ran over to 620 & up to Wild Wings in C-ville. Then headed down to North Garden & Plank Rd. then on down thru Howardsville & back to Richmond. Fun riding. We head out that way a couple times a month. Get with us some time.

I'm jealous of you guys but you know whats weird, I regularly ride through the same towns, or at least the same names! Richmond, IL and Palmyra, WI. And we run a road called Plank too!

In your burg, what are your local forums & clubs, see my post "Chitown Area & Other forums & Clubs"

Let me know next time you guys are through here. I would love that ride!

My ex lives just outside the Lake. We used to go there all the time.

Our weekend rides always go towards C'ville. You should meet us along the way sometime, although it may be a while with winter coming.

Great ride today. 3 'Hawks and the RC. We did just shy of 200 miles and linked some of the best roads in the area together. No close calls either. Some of the roads were still sandy but once we were farther south it was wide open. Unfortunately the high wind made it seem like we were in Kansas minus the curvey roads. L8RGYZ should have several pics from the stops we made along the way.

Fuel Mileage-
RC51- 39mpg
Reaper's 'Hawk- 33mpg
Mine- 38mpg
L8RGYZ's 'Hawk- ~41pmg?

It was interesting to compare the different twins MPG's with eachothers. Reaper is a little heavier than the rest of us. I think his mesh affected the drag as well. I know he keeps it tuned religiously (probably syncs the carbs more than he rides it).

Good ride yesterday, not only were we carving the roads but dodging branches and roadkill and acting like giant sails in the wind. A most excellent day on the back roads, let do it again!
