Oregon / Washington roads... damn you guys are lucky!

The wife and I have been vacationing up in the Portland area since the 25th and have taken a few day trips in the rental car to get a lay of the land and do some sight seeing and I must say... DAMN, there are some awesome roads up here. Not all are in the best of condition, but all of them are twisty AND scenic. I'm really kicking myself in the *** for flying up here instead of trucking the bikes up here... ohh well, there's always next summer! You Oregonians & Washingtonians are VERY lucky, even if your riding season is short!

This has been a closely held secret for my 45 years of riding. You are only allowed to tell your closest 5 friends. More than that and we'll come for you. lol

Make sure to tell everyone how lousy the weather was and that it rained all the time-that keeps them from wanting to move up here and making the roads even more crowded -

We do have great places to ride. If you tell anyone, make sure you stress the 'short' season

I only ride January to December,

You can't ride in Washington. The roads are all full of motor homes.

Yeah, I have to admit the roads around the North side of Mt. St. Helens in particular are very sharp as of a couple of years ago.
It's about a 90 mile trip right about from downtown Vancouver (Across the river from Portland) here to the observatory there on the North side of the mountain.
While you're here, don't miss the 40 minute one way drive up into the Columbia River Gorge - if you don't make it this year, definitely put it on the list for next'.
