Ohio Hawks?
here's a route in the region i like to ride.
I usually enjoy 56 near nelsonville, little road from 56 to 33,
78 from nelsonville to I-75, also off course 555, I prefer between 37 & 78 I feel better road condition, less gravel. Also 536.
let me know if yoy know any good road no or little sand/gravel.
Yeah probably have seen me around campus. my brothers and i meet down there to go ride. Have you ever been to grove city? I've seen a red hawk down here. sometimes i will take 665 out of grove city to 56 in london. 56 gets relly good once you pass under 70. Good clean roads for the most part. Then i will catch 161 which turns into 36. good clean roads Nice hills and sweeping turns. I also like 36 out of sunbury and catch 62 which takes you out towards millersburg and amish country. Great ride . long too. Ever hit up bike night anywhere?
the route i posted includes smaller roads. occasional gravel scares me less than all the blind turns on 555. i've ridden 62 a bit. next time you head towards millersburg, consider 60 and 83 if you like tighter stuff.
i haven't done 78 yet...will definitely try it.
shakes, i haven't been to grove city or a bike night in years. weekdays are tough for me. may join you in aug though.

Did you do the manual ccts conversion yourself? I have been thinking about seeking out someone with more knowledge than I to help with the swap when mine arrive. I want to do any work myself and not through a dealership for the experience and so i can do it myself again if need be.Maybe someone would be interested in helping wrench on a fellow riders hawk soon? Free beers and lunch or something? Just a thought. We should try and get some hawks together for a ride too.

I did during winter so I could be patient which is the important for weekend mechanic like myself.
Depends on how to ride and maintain the hawk, but I realized there are many SH witout failing CCT over 40K miles.
PAIR is another popular modification and easier (less time) than manual CCT.
Let me know.
i rode 78 from nelsonville to mcconnelsville yesterday. lots of fairly short-radius turns and sweepers linked together beautifully, and bonus elevation changes. very little traffic and clean...this is my new favorite OH road.
mcdoggy, does 78 stay entertaining further east? east of i-77 even?

I took 78 all the way to 536 last summer, but not much 25mph turns many 35~45mph's.
I will share some of my favorite via pm.
email me Cantley.3@buckeyemail.osu.edu to organize a ride

Hey all,
I have a 98 (orginal owner) and I'm looking for some riding buddies. I live in the Youngstown area.
I spent some time at a cabin down in Hocking Hills last year and was wishing I had my bike with me the whole time. What are some good roads to ride on down there?

http://rideohio.org/Try this site out.You may find some info.Warren area for me.I do alot of riding south of Lisbon.Pa. to New Philly, down to the river.I ride Rt. 164 alot from Lisbon to Rt. 212.Never get tired of it.Any 3 didgit road south is usually a good time. Not into the squidly stuff or Ricky Racer.Just like like to ride the twisties at a slightly elevated speed.Actually I'm old and slow.My butt taps out before I can burn up the 3rd. tank of gas.I see that there are a few guys north of us that post here.Maybe we can hook up this summer.Crap--More snow due today.
I agree that there are some great roads in south east Ohio, But I have had not one but two wrecks due to road conditions while heading to Marietta. Have seen alot of other people wreck around there too. To me a lot of Ohio roads in that area are very neglected and have gravel, potholes everywhere, and narrow roads. Rt. 555 and 676 are my favorite are pretty damn fun though.
