What in the world is this OEM item?

And does it work?

I found this item on my VTR's fairing bracket (one on each side)?

Honda call it the "Dynamic Dampener".

Anyone run into this item before.

It's listed in chapter 2 on page 3 of the 1998 to 2005 Honda service manual for the VTR1000F Super Hawk.

I also ran a search here and came up with nothing, nada, zero.

Thanks in advance SIRR1

Just what it sounds like,, it is a dampner.. to reduce noticed vibrations

Item 4, 5, 6 & 7.. Normally the only thing you see while seated on the bike is the cap.. #7

My Suzuki Bandit has one under the gas tank, right behind the steering head. Big chunk of rubber, just bolted on there. I took it off, then thought better of it and bolted it back on.

According to a tech friend a American Honda, it is supposed to reduce vibration to the mirror stalks

Is it actually effective? I'm guessing its more than likely negligible because mine does not have them and they don't vibrate at all.

it helps remember you have rubber dampers between mirrors and frame too it will also help with frame cracking at welds and other similar things like undoing bolts
