what type of frame sliders??
Re: what type of frame sliders??
I've got LSL sliders - I liked mounting solution (mounted to 2 points via thick CNC machined plates), no need to cut fairing and replaceable slider part....
I got mine from big and known in Europe on-line catalogue
http://www.louis.de
There you need item (put it in "Produktsuche" - Product Search and click arrow, it will bring you directly to product.
This is monuting kit: 10022056
And this is sliders itself (in different colors):
10022030
10022031
10022032
10022033
but I think you can have them from LSL directly

Here is it on my VTR:

Re: what type of frame sliders??
If those sliders come just as "bobbin" then you have to cut fairing.
Only way to mount sliders on Hawk wihout having to cut fairing is if sliders installed via mountin plate.
Another reason to go for plate-mounted is that if you have "bobbin only" slider bolted to aluminium frame with 1 bolt is it likely that when bike will slide on it on bad surface slider will bend frame and dmage mounting hole.
Quite a few makers do plate-mounted sliders (and not only for Hawk).
LSL, Moko, Bike Design - all these are plat-mounted.
Now, I have attached close-ups of my LSL sliders - that'll explain how it works.

I have a pair like these:

Sitting on a shelf, because I was in on the old SH list's crash bar group buy. My bike went down twice while wearing them and they worked flawlessly. Once was a drop, once was a drop and slide. They work exactly like they are supposed to, and didn't bend or break..

Photos of yellow Shawk in this thread above - that's actually mine...
I do not have photographs of all bike, but if weather will allow I'll take some shots on Sunday and will post them here...

Re: what type of frame sliders??
Bluesman,
You posted a picture of a (your?) yellow SH with LSL sliders. For ordering purposes, what color are the outboard portions? "Silver" or "titanium"? I also have the yellow flavor SH, and I like the look of the silver/titanium (whichever it is) "crash pads".
Thanks,
Steve

Re: what type of frame sliders??
Mine are aluminium, on German website it was called "Silver"... they also do anodized coloured as well...
Where you ordering from? I can try to check by part number...I still have papers I got with my sliders to check part number

Re: what type of frame sliders??
Mine are the Titanium colored sliders.. They look pretty good. They match the silver nicely. I'm sure they would go with any color since there is plenty of bare aluminum on the SH.
