What I brought home from Barber AMA races....

First thing, It was a nice weekend. Great weather. Good racing. BIG crowd. All around good time.

I met some guy, last name Nemish, who was selling Nomar Tire Changers. He was a nice guy and didn't wince when I mentioned knowing his brother through the Superhawk site.
I wish I had the $$. The Nomar is one NICE setup!

On Sunday, I carried my helmet with me, and a silver Sharpie. My helmet is a flat black Scorpion.
I spent the entire "Autograph time" going from tent-to-tent and here is what I came away with:

List of riders who signed:

Jake Zemke
Miguel Duhamel
Ben Bostrom
Aaron Gobert
Josh Hayes
Ben Attard
Josh Herrin
Jason Disalvo
Eric Bostrom
Roger Lee Hayden
Jamie Hacking
Aaron Yates
Jake Holden
Steve Rapp

And last but certainly not least:

"The King" Kenny Roberts

Kinda' neat how that happened....
I was walking along and looked over between two trailers and there he was, standing with a cup of coffee talking to some guy. He had on normal street clothes so he didn't stand out as being anybody. Nobody around. Nobody seemed to notice.
I said to myself "That's KENNY ROBERTS!" I walked over and waited a few minutes and then asked him if he'd sign my helmet. He said "Sure" so I walked away with his signature.

It looks REALLY cool, but the file size of my pics are too big to attach

Anyways, great weekend. Hope others are able to make it next year.

Brian

Sounds cool. Wonder if you can/should clear coat it?

You can resize that pic & post it to the thread. If you got MS Picture Manager, just open it up & go to the "Picture" drop-down menu & click "Resize". Make it 480 x 360 & save it under another file name. It will be small enough to add to your post as an attachment.

If you use MS Picture Manager, do an export. You can size it to 1080 x 768 and set the compression to 70% under JPeg Options. It should get the size down to where it can be posted. Just be careful to give it a new name... MS Picture Manager will overwrite the original file if you dont specify a new name.

I just got back from the races myself. That was a nice trip, but now I know I need a Corbin seat, my a-- is killing me!

I didn't ask for any autographs, but was overwhelmed by how friendly the riders are.

Always glad to learn something new. Bigger is better! I'll try that out next time.
Thanks

Well, let's give it a whirl and see if it works......

It did work!
It looks a lot better in real life. All sides are covered with silver signatures. just like the one side seen here.

Brian,

Good to hear you had a good time! Nice job with the sigs. That's cool. Maybe you can get the helmet cleared so you won't be afraid to wear it now. Cool that you met my bro too. He tends to get around a little.

Yup! I would have it cleared and wear it to every bike rally that came down the pike! What a great helmet!

Brian,
I was there when Roberts signed your helmet. I was right beside you at the same time and asked him if he would take a photo with me. Pretty awsome! I couldn't believe he was jsut there out and about chit-chatting with folks. Everyone just kinda looked at him and asked "...is that Kenny Roberts?" That was pretty cool. I had a great time at the races as well. Two great days of racing.
