Removed the caps off of the air vent lines/ fuel overflow lines on the carbs, started her up and no leaks. Put the air box and filter back on, and rode her 5 miles in the mist and loved every second! Damn I'm and idiot.

Got my bike Rollin' again. Then I realized I put the front wheel on backward. Still waiting on some parts.

Re-adjusted my Carb pilot screws according to 8541hawks set up. Got a Motion Pro carb sync and plan on doing that tomorrow before work. Took the bike out to run acouple errands after the rain and it ran very good. i will see where I stand after I sync the carbs tomorrow and figure out what needs to happen next.

I looked at it, under a blanket, as I left for work, as I've done every day for the past few months :/ I did take it out for short jaunt last week!

Haaha Yeap leaving in about 45 mins to get the new ones mounted, I'm too cheap to do burnouts on newer tires:)

aaugsbu 02-19-2012 10:37 AM

Got the garage heated up and put a nice coat of wax on her. Can't wait till it gets warm here.

aaugsbu 02-19-2012 12:33 PM

Just got the front and back brake bled along with clutch too.

firestorm2112 02-19-2012 12:43 PM

Took the tarp n pampers off today and took the chin guard off - taking it to work to have it and the new hugger painted to match the VTR red.

zmaniv 02-19-2012 12:49 PM

Finished putting a rebuilt motor in her.
Ported heads. Moriwaki cams. JE high comp pistons.

yeah 1:52.4 was my best time of the day...I was running fairly consistent low 1:50s after I learned the track (2nd track day on the bike, first time at Fontana ever)

I made tons of mistakes though I think the bike is capable of mid-high 1:40s with someone that actually knows what they're doing :)

GlockPointer 02-22-2012 10:17 PM

Great vid man, which door were you using on the gopro? Was that a gopro? Mine was all wind noise at 140.

GlockPointer 02-24-2012 09:11 PM

Took her to Happy Hour, about 20 miles.

bahndrvr 02-24-2012 09:33 PM

Did my first 1 - 2 successful gear change wheelie on her. Man I suck at wheelies now:(

Used to stunt, but it's been 12 years or so LOL. No desire to now but had a shitty day at work and the opportunity presented itself:)

GlockPointer 03-03-2012 06:07 PM

40 miles, to Poodies and back. You should try the PoodieBurger. Saw an unfuckinbelievable set of gams. Too much traffic to open up the bike tho. Tommorow is XR day.

Little_Horse 03-03-2012 07:35 PM

A wheelie, then back in the garage :)

Squid 03-03-2012 09:44 PM

Took it out to get dyno'd at the local shop. 101.24 HP @ 9k RPM and 65.24 Ft-Lbs @7K RPM. Pretty happy with those digits.

Wolverine 03-04-2012 10:11 AM

1st ride after RaceTech fork spring install, new front tire and wheel lip polish.

Looking good out there fellas, shiny side up!

CrankenFine 03-11-2012 09:15 PM

Warm winter day in the 'burgh.

:woo:

An extremely rare 70 degree day at this latitude in March made me take it out for a spin. Woo-hoo! Ride 'em cowboy!

For some strange reason the front wheel kept lifting off the road. Wasn't even trying to stunt or anything. I guess it got more powerful resting over the winter.. must be the fresh coolant and mosfet R/R.

ttocsmai 03-12-2012 07:41 AM

I Sold it to a newbie in Allentown PA. He should have fun with it, as the only thing that was wrong was the battery. It's always the battery.

Twin Kat 03-13-2012 02:45 PM

Local shop picked it up. Getting new sprockets, chain, rear tire, rear brakes, oil change and clutch repaired. Whew! Should have it back at end of the week and MUCH lighter in the wallet!

young996 03-13-2012 06:18 PM

74 here in Ohio and i will be riding all week to work and then taking the long way home. I went +5 on the rear and -1 on the front. Speedo is WAY off getting the healer soon. I'm getting 125 miles on a tank before the light comes on, that is all in town riding. 0 to 100 is awesome after that not so good. Red light to red light is the best when a cbr1000 pulls up and I can beat him to the next light

WAYNEHAMMER 03-17-2012 08:45 PM

Got it started after 3 years. Won't run without the choke on and is backfiring like hell. But I'm happy it's running. I'll have to tune it up or something.

I'd guess the carbs are pretty gummed up after 3 years.

Got my hawk running today for the first time in 8 months. I'm surprised at how well it ran. I expected to have the same problems as your having.

Griffo 03-17-2012 11:31 PM

Just got mine last week , took it for a ride today up Mt Glorious and great ride near here up a nice twisty mountain road , nice coffee shops up the top for lunch or just a cuppa , only 40 odd K's to the top from my place ;)
