Before you jump to the conclusion that it's the rotors you should check the runout. Mine has done the same thing but the rotors were fine. The tire is a likely culprit. Even though the tire looks good and rides good without vibration at speed does not mean it's ok. I've found that front tires which have seen a lot of impact loads can do some funky things. Impact loads are things like bringing down a wheelie and stuff, not that the VTR riders would do such illegal things. Motorcycle tires are unidirectional (there is an arrow on the side that shows which way they are supposed to turn) and the belting is constructed accordingly. There is only one time that the tire is loaded backwards - under braking. They are not constructed the same as tires used on airplanes so they don't do a very good job during 'landings'. Some tires are better than others, but it really depends on how often/bad these occurrences are.

Check, check, check and check again. Never replace a part just because you think it's bad.

 

I had/have the same issue...It is not as bad now, but still can feel it a little (not tires) I am on my second set of rotors, calipers replaced with RC51's and I still get some pulsing when breaking, like it is slipping a little...not so bad that it makes my butt pucker or anything, but it is still there...Not gonna throw anymore money at it....probably just going to sell at the end of summer, and pick up a dualsport...LOL...nah, gotta keep the hawk...
