I got this bike back in 2009ish. Soon after I bought this exhaust. Have never seen anything like it since. The construction is beauty, fit was perfect. The sound, menacing. Baffles are removable.
i tried to contact Yoshimura back then but i couldn't get anyone to ID the model of these pipes. Haven't seen anything like it before or since. I'm certain that their genuine. Any ideas? I wonder if they are some limited production or left over from some obscure race series from the late 90s.
I would reach out to Roger Ditchfield, Revolution Racing.. He is probably the only individual that has seen most all the items ever produced for the Superhawk.
I am going with the consensus, on the OEM header. And depending what the mid pipes are made of ? A set of Yoshi cans cut down, YET the fabricator of the mids has some skill.
Taking closer looks of the welds.. Not bad..
IF i would sport those. Custom build , and not hard on the eye.....
I can't recall if I've ever seen those before (certainly not in person). They look familiar but then again I'm getting old and it might be from seeing them here previously lol. My guess is they're legit and that they were probably made when the bike first came out (and not for very long). The cans match earlier style Yoshimura exhaust for older bikes. Companies like Two Bros did something similar and brought out an inital round can exhaust as soon as the bike was introduced and later changed to the more familiar oval styles we all know. If you look on Ebay for instance, there's a Japanese seller (MUKEIDOU) who periodically lists rare and obscure exhausts, some of which I've never seen or even heard of before. I'm willing to bet if you could ask him he'd confirm.
