My stock mufflers, which have been gutted, sound great. I'd rather put the money into the suspension.

REDVTR1000 02-26-2012 01:06 PM

microns, soon to be muzzys

matt365 02-26-2012 01:23 PM

Right idea, but when and if you get the money those cans weigh a metric ton. ;)

I have 2bros cf btw oh and they're low mount pipes swept up with high mount hangers.

WAYNEHAMMER 02-26-2012 01:49 PM

Had carbon jardine high mounts. They sounded bad since they were so old. Then I made a set of M4 cans from an RC51 work and the sounded great. Smashed one and now I have a single M4 that I gutted and put a 12" glass pack muffler inside. It has mandrel bent 2" pipe down the the header.

I got devil carbon fiber high mounts...they have a nice growl to them...like another guy said about the Harley guys breaking neck, Lmfao!

Kelevra 02-27-2012 06:33 AM

Think I'm going to get 'er jetted and perform a lil 'lectomy' aka drilling holes, in the outlets, til I decide what I favor. I want high mounts, reasonable priced, that retain the passenger pegs for my chic.

superhawk22 02-27-2012 06:42 AM

There are easy fixes to keep the rear pegs for any high mount pipes cost about $8 if I remember correctly.

Bandit400man 02-27-2012 07:20 AM

Got rear pegs on mine with the high mounts no problem...but no girls, they just throw off your balance and smash your nutz into the gas tank lol

Old Yeller 02-27-2012 07:40 AM

Not on the list.....Staintune....

Wicky 02-27-2012 07:48 AM

Good to know, thanks!

My chic rides too, so she knows to push her hands against the tank, so my fam jewels don't get crushed at each traffic light, hehe.

I had the Moriwaki rainbow Ti's on my 00 RC-51, along with a bunch of other Mori kit, pricey stuff! That was my "sink stupid amounts of money" bike.

Squid 02-27-2012 09:53 AM

Dan Moto conicals... Pretty loud, light weight, and cheap (about a third third the cost from other slip-ons)

Mine not on list either, BlueFlame Oval Ti.

young996 03-02-2012 09:02 PM

I have Two Brothers Racing High Mount They are low and rumble great. They sound best when you down shift.

MrC 03-03-2012 12:15 AM

Ehm... stock? I cannot choose it in the list. Bike came with it, planning to replace them is the short- to mid-term future.

jibbs 03-03-2012 12:30 AM

I have Yosh RS3 Ovals with race baffles. They've been cut down by 6 inches. They are low mounts but have been respositioned so they angle up at the ends and utilize Two Bros high mount brackets. I like the sound, it's pretty crunchy. My buddys can hear me when I'm coming up behind them.

I would love to get some round high mount D&Ds, Erion or Staintunes. I'm still kicking myself for not getting the Indigo Shot Gun full system when it was available.

Kev L 03-03-2012 01:58 AM

I have Scorpion Carbon high levels on mine with the rear pegs fitted using extenders. Works well, the cans are a good compromise with good performance and noise!

Devil high mounts. They sound great.

ohiophotog 03-03-2012 08:55 PM

2nd set of HMF cans, 1st set was back in 2001, these are a few weeks old. Loud and aggressive, my friends say the bike sounds like an "angry beast", I love it!

Erion cans for right nw. I'm debating on whether to go with D & D (Because I heard they are obnoxiously loud) and have a hi pipe made to fit them, or go complete custom with two undertail canisters . A sort of 2 -1-2 combination.

We'll see how much it all costs first.

I like the sound of the erions. The people that ride behind say it sounds good as well so I guess I can't complain.

Not to be too nosy a neighbor, but if you live in Altoona, why do you have what appears to be an Ohio plate??
