No place for swingarm spools, unless someone can weld some or tap some threads (not sure what that would do to the integrity of the swingarm though)
Unless you make some mods, you'll have to use paddle type rear stand.

I had aluminum spool adapters welded onto the bottom of the swingarm. I bought Pit Bull brand adapters. The spools then screw into the adapters. The welder wanted to do it with the swingarm off, but since I'm not mechanically inclined, nor strong enough to flip the bike over, the best we could come up with was to lean the bike waaaaaay over to one side and have him weld the adapters on.

I'll get some pics in a few days, as I'm waiting for a track event to take some pictures.

I had been using the paddle-style rear stand for awhile, but the bike recently started sliding backwards on the stand. Not fun.

I have the PitBull aluminum adapters, basically little hunks of aluminum with either 8mm or 10mm (your choise) holes threaded into it. Sort of expensive at 16bucks but I don't feel like buying the tools to do it myself. I went to their website for the phone number and called/ordered them up. At this point I just need to find someone to weld them on.

When they are welded on, do I have to unplug the ECU or any electrical stuff, or is the welding process simply a heat issue, not electrical current?

I'll probably go with the inserts. I figure that drilling into the swingarm can't hurt the structure too much, or they wouldn't sell them. Besides, I'm no Evel Knievel, so I don't plan on jumping over any sharks.

yikes, I'd risk a little discoloration before I drilled into the swingarm! But that's just me. Also, I've seen parted out s-hawks on e-bay and swingarms going for under 50bucks... I might grab one and use that as a guinea pig for the weld-on job.

Won't screwing them in compromise the structure of the swingarm? Probably not by much, but I just went with weld-ons. I haven't noticed any discoloration since having the spool adapters welded on.
