Superhawk is the best I have owned but...

I have owned many streetbikes over the years from a XL500 to a ZX11. I tried the cruiser thing once I got past my young irresponsible years and fell in love with V Twins. The Superhawk is the best streetbike I have owned. It's not practical, It's not that comfortable, It's not as fast nor does it handle as well as the latest sportbikes but it has something they don't have. Character in spades! The personality didn't really come out until I put the Two Brothers C2 cans on.

It's not as exotic as a Ducati but undeniably is loaded with attitude. At stoplights it rumbles with the promise of something super nasty. At full throttle it roars like the baddest Harley dragbike. It is the best streetbike I have owned. But...

When I was younger and in the service one of the sergeants had TWO Norton 850 Commando's at his house. A 73 and a 74, both black. Those black Norton 850 Commando's were so cool! It was lust at first sight but sadly I never got to own one.

So my question is, What bike did you lust after that you never got to own?

well I'm young so hopefully I'll get to own it eventually but I sat on a gixxer1000k6 the other day and I was in love.... but I love the big v-twin.... right now I'm not lusting over anything. I can pull up next to anyone and honestly say I like my bike more and have no regrets...

I think the gixxer would be a great bike to own to scare yourself silly occasionally with that awesome acceleration. But not a great everyday bike unless you have the throttle control of Rossi. I like the new color scheme but think personally I would last longer on the 750.

Currently, the yellow Ducati Sport 1000. I'll get one soon enough.

I love the current technology merging with the good looks of old. The low clip-ons, the shiny spoked rims, and the cafe looks really captures my eye. Plus, it has that undeniable sound we're all so familiar with. Honestly, I'd rather get the Sport 1000 over a new K6 Gixxer. It has class and style.

I'd still like to find room in the garage for a 916 Ducati.

Without a doubt, the NR750. Show up on one of these puppies at the local bike nite and see how quickly everyone would abandon the latest gsyzxcbr to qawk at true exotic-ness! Quite amazing that it's 15 years old now, WOW.

Oh, and in keeping with the spirit of the season at this time of the year, all you'se guys can pitch in and buy me one: http://tinyurl.com/8fwk2
I promise to call each and everyone of you up on the phone and rev the motor a couple of times. It's the least I could do......

I like that bike too. Looks like what we rode back in the early 70's.

There was a company that was attempting to reignite the Norton brand. The bike used a SP1 engine in it. Looked gorgeous.

If that fails, then the current modial would also go very well in my garage....

I would like to own a ducati superbike someday. I think I will stick with vtwin. Although I wouldn't mind owning an MV f1000.

Harley Davidson Heritage Softail Deluxe. Perfect contrast to 'Hawk, so my ride for the day could fit my mood for the day.

This will sound pretty bodgy, but i have always had a thing for the 1050 triumph Sprint ST's. But they cost too much, Was looking for a second hand 955, but its the same deal. So I settled for the VTR. The only regret I have is the bloody too small fuel tank! It is very annoying!

I know, I know. There was just something about that Smokin' Joe's that just did it for me. P.S. Almost forgot to add the Speed Triple to my list.

I've always had a special place in my garage for the MV Agusta f4. Something about a $20,000 crotch rocket makes me giddy...

Well... do have this sharing barn space with the VTR...

And you know, seriously, the Superhawk doesn't take a back seat to much. It can hang with the best.

You know, had not noticed I'd placed a pic of the the same peak, different season, as the avatar. FWIW, it is nearby Mt. Guyot (13,370ft) just NW of Jefferson, in central Colorado, off of Hwy 285.

I think the KTM Super Duke would do it for me. If I was going retro it would definatly be the KZ1000 Lawson Replica.

I love some of the rare older bikes like the CB1100F Suersport. Only avail in Canada in 1983. For new I like the 06 Triumph ST. Of course if money was no object......................
