SH Bogs Slightly When Revved

I've had my SH for about a year now. I love the bike -- but one thing has bugged me since first test riding it. It just doesn't have a super crisp throttle response. For background the bike is stock and I've not changed the fuel filter or cleaned the carbs or air filter. I've also noticed that inside the airbox there was some deterioration of a foam lining around a vent. I'm not sure if this is also a culprit. There aren't any noticeable flat spots when riding. It is only a nuisance when I'm stopped and I want to give it a good vrrmmm without preparing for the bog with a quick twist of the throttle.

I've inspected all parts I'm not sure if this is a common problem.

Any help and input is appreciated.

Thanks!

Best give it a service: plugs airfilter, balance carbs, set tps etc. Then if it persists those things can be ruled out.

PS Is it a standard airfilter or an aftermarket cleanable 'performance' one? and do you have an aftermarket exhaust? & what idle speed is it set to?

Follow wicky's advice. But I think its just a simple spark plug and air filter replacement.
