Ride with the kid :)
Weather has been terrible here the past few weeks, so we quit waiting for sun and ventured out into the rain. Can't go far without him having a license and all, but he has an absolute blast just going around the block. Out system is he stays as wingman, and a chirp of the horn means "car, get right to the sidewalk". Worked really well, and he's really getting the riding thing down!

Didn't mind the rain at all He's giving me his thoughts on braking in the wet...
Kept it to 15 mph so not to annoy the neighbors. Got quite a few waves from the folks outside lol

Thanks! They do grow so fast! Seems like he's growing like a weed now, harder to beat at video games, and able to have fully adult conversations. Still carries around a stuffed toy in the evenings, so not moving out just yet
No real mods to the bike. I did put an aluminum pull starter on it as opposed to the POS plastic one that brakes super easy they originally come with. Also gave it a good alignment, shimmed the tank to stop all the buzzing and put a good gasket in the gas cap to stop it from leaking. Still for the price off Craig's I can't complain about those little things, cheap ride!

My son is five (legal passenger age in Washington). He got a helmet for his birthday. I've got some tube spacers and longer bolts to mount the passenger pegs around the high mounts. They go on and the seat cowl comes off. He loves it. I also picked up a PowerMadd HoldTite waistbelt with handles that I wear, since he can't reach around my waist. I love to pull my elbow in and see him looking around me from my mirror. Too cool.

That is awesome!! I am thinking of picking up a 50cc pocket bike for my boys birthday this August. Just like toy4xchris said, I remember when my old man used to pick me up as well on his, Then new, CB750. lol

This has to be one of the coolest things I have seen on these forums!
I'm going to be a dad this fall and am already excited to start shopping for a pocket bike... I suppose buying a stroller first might be a little more responsible though.

That is awesome! My son is almost 6 months old so I've got awhile to go. But a coworker joked about adding a baby seat to the back of my SH. I'm gonna have to fight the urge to buy a pocket rocket like that for too long.

Thats way too cool !! I had plans like that. When my daughter was born, I planned on having her on a bicycle by 2, off training wheels by 4-5, pocket bike by 6, and racing 125's by 12-13. Figures, she is 9 1/2 and wont even ride a bicycle!!!! DAMN!

Just showed this thread to my wife. She started laughing....
me: "You know this is in our future, right?"
her: "So what if it's a girl?"
me: "We'll get her a pink one."
...she just kept laughing as she walked out of the room.
(I am going to go ahead and assume laughter is approval!)
Thanks again for sharing this mdbuehler

Glad you liked it, it'll be the light at the end of the tunnel for you after all those diapers!
He taught himself to ride without training wheels at daycare, depriving me of that fatherly moment (eager little guy!). He can't work a recoil starter, so he was stuck waiting for me to learn the moto. When he figures out how to work that, he gets to start mowing the lawn

Whoa that's really cool! I have GOT to do that with my little niece when she's old enough. That hawk looks really good too, what kind of wheels are those?
