OK i am 270lb 6'3" superhawk rider. I need to upgrade my fork springs, but ordering them online i want to get it right the first time...... Any idea what size ??? And how difficult are they to install ?? Your input is appreciated

Remove the top cap and the spring comes out. replace and you are done.

The problem that you are going to face is the damping rates for a spring this strong is not going to work well. You should really consider upgrading the valves as well.

Cool, Springs sound easy enough, how about the Valves ? If anyone is parting with .90 or larger springs and valves, let me know.....thanks

Minor detail, but make sure the front end is properly supported before removing the caps.

Also with the heavier spring, you could try heavier fork oil as well.

1st download the factory manual from the SH knowledge base. Study the exploded fork diagrams

On the RT website there should be a spring rate calculator which recommends the proper spring rate.

I suggest getting the front end of the bike off the ground by a jack or a lift and removing the fairings and forks completely. Pulling the fairings give you better access to the components.

The .9 springs i have on my bike are longer than the OEM forks springs, so you have to cut the spacers to get the preffered preload or zero preload if you're going to achieve a stock lenght spacer+spring combo. I also had to adjust the air gap to compensate for the volume of oil the RT springs displace. About 5 mm more than stock.

At 270 lbs you might want to looks into getting the proper spring for your rear shock, as changing the front will undoubtely highlight any shortcomings of the rear suspension.

I got lucky at 210-200 lb fully geared I was still in the ballpark of the EOM rear shock spring.
