What was your first street bike?
How long did you own it?
How many miles did you put on it?

1982 Yamaha Maxim 400, i had it about a year and rode it probably 3,000 miles. Also I ran it into the back of a station wagon. This type of behavior was to continue until, ahh, the present.

my first true street bike was 1982 Yamaha XJ650 Seca (although I began riding on the street on a 1980 Yamaha XT250). The Seca was a fanstastic bike for its day. I forget the mileage but I had it for five years, eventually selling it to pick up a 1985 FZ750.

Yamaha FS1E. We called them "Fizzys". In England the first thing you could ride was a 50cc moped at 16 and the Fizzy was it! Cool machine, looked and rode like a real bike.Mine was a purple 1974 model.Loved it and rode the wheels off the thing for the next 2 years.

1968 or 69 ? Honda CB160. Rode it for one year while I was 15 to 16. Bought it new for a song because the 175 & 350's were coming out and they wanted to get rid of them. Wanted a 305 real bad. The dealer, Boca John, had one 160 & one 305 left. $150 diff. between the two but just couldn't get my dad to go for the HP difference.
Moved to a used CB350 the next year but sold it as soom as I could afford a car. Always wanted that Super Hawk and that's why I have one now.

My 'hawk ia my first. 3 years +.. and 20K miles so far..
Now, I've had access to and ridden many dirt bikes, and street bikes... @ 5 yrs old I was ridding a 50cc Yamaha dirt bike, then got a XR80S when I was 9-10.. then had a YZ250 as a late teen ager-to early 20s... rode Mid 80's 750 shadow, '94 Dyna wide glide, '98 FXDWG (Dyna wide glide), '97 Ultraclassic, '00 Ultraclassic.. etc.. These were bikes I rode when I wanted to.. not just "test drove"..
But the 'hawk is MY first street bike..

1965? Suzuki K11. 80 cc's. The K11 was the sports model. I had it about a year. I've no idea how many miles I put on it. It was a huge amount of fun. Really tough little bike. It crashed well.

I bought a brand new '85(86?) 650 Nighthawk. I had it for a year with no accidents claimed on insurance. Next year my insurance premium went through the roof, was going to exceed the cost of the bike so I sold it.

Hmm, Trying to recall which was the first one that was "mine" I think it was a Honda 125 MTX dual sport. If you only count "street only" bikes then my VTR is it.. though I put many miles on Harleys that I borrowed over the years too.

1st proper street bike @ 15.5 years old
1972 Blue Honda SL100 Enduro ~2,000 miles and ~1 year (It was a beater and smaller than my 125 dirt bike at the time)
Then kept trading up for the rest of my teenage years...
1983 Honda Ascot VT500 ~3,000 miles ~ 1 year (Fun, but lazy precursor to the Hawk GT)
1983 Honda VF750 Interceptor ~20,000 miles ~ 2 years (Loved it and really got into long rides. The girls in my High Scool liked rides on it too!)
1970 Honda CB750 ~10,000 miles ~2 years (Went classic. Only IL4 I have ever owned!)
1984 Yamaha RZ350 ~2,000 miles < 1 year (Loaner from a friend that I rode for a season)

at nineteen 1982 cb450sc nighthawk. Two cylinder I put 12,000 or so miles on it in the 2 years I had it. Guttless but did the trick and kept me from being too stupid until I developed better riding technique.

Had a dirtbike when I was a kid. YZ80 and a trail 70. The SH is my first streetbike though. Its been 9 months and 7800 miles together now. Where have you been all my life.....(thats how I feel about my bike)

I had a 99 Shadow ACE that I learned on before I found out I needed something more fun. I only had it a few months and only put about 1000 miles on it. After that it was straight to the VTR.

Started with a 71 175cc Kawasaki that was a dual purpose bke.
Bought a 71 Mach III new and rode it about 3 years until a UPS truck pulled out in front of me when I was wide open in 3rd gear. Fixed her up and sold her.
Now I've still got a a 72 Mach III with about 4000 miles on it.
