Needs a reliable shop in the Bay Area (California)
I'm looking for a reliable shop in the Bay Area California (Penninsula) to take my VTR to. There's two shops I'm staying clear of (not sure I can name them). Can anyone reffer me to a reliable shop? I've got many parts I want to install.

Have you checked BARF - Bay Area Rider's Forum? I find its not as topical as the Superhawk love fest here, but it is local. Gotta be some decent shops for all the bikes I see around La Honda & Pescadero. I'm in Santa Rosa.

Most definately NOT Doug's
A friend of mine told me a bad story from Doug's.
My friend took his bike there after got he got in a small accident. Doug ordered the parts (shifter link, turn signal, stuff like that). The part distributor took about 2 months to send Doug the wrong parts. So far not Doug's fault. But here's where Doug went wrong. My friend made phone call, after phone call, after phone call. No response. The only time my friend got any feedback was when he had to pay Doug a visit. Doug responds with "I'll get it done this week, the parts are in that unopened box". Today my friend tells me that he paid Doug another visit (probably the 5th visit since he turned in his bike to Doug) and Doug says his distributor sent him the wrong part and he will get the correct part today or tomorrow. This is the 2nd time Doug has said this and he's still not returning my friend's phone calls. At this point my friend does not know what to do other than talk to his lawyer. What should my friend do?

I hear Peninsula Honda alot BUT not experience with their work, not sure where it's located. I took my chicken to CCI(Cycle Imports) in Santa Cruz. Richard Oliver is the main guy there and has an in shop dyno and has just tuned the Bonneville Salt flats Kaw 1400 winner. Might be worth the drive, Richard is one of the best known mechanics in the bay area and has a wait list to prove it.
