Need some SS brake line help.

Today I mounted my superbike bars and the risers I bought are a little higher than I expected so the stock brake lines won't reach. I was wondering what were a good set of SS lines that are at least 2-3 inches longer than the stock ones. I have done some searching of ebay but there is no mention of lengths so I don't want to buy a set and find out there are to short as well. Any recommendations? Thanks guys.

It might Ron Ayers that lets you spec your lengths. Some of the stock measurements will work with bar mods, suspension mods but either rarely or just barely. It's worth being a little on the generous side but not floppin' around.

Angle of the banjo can have an impact too. It's back there a ways in the knowledge base, but I think there is a write up on bending banjos.

Just measure twice to be sure what you need, and order say Galfer (or whatever brand you prefer) lines for a superhawk plus 2 or plus 3 (inches)-whatever you need-they'll make anything you want. It's only about $8 more than the stock lines. Good luck trying to find out stock bikes lengths to save a few bucks. It's alot easier to just order them in the lengths you need.

When i contacted some of the ebay listings they told me they do not charge any extra for extended length. So just say you want front lines for Superhawk & extra 2 inch longer to fit dirt bike bar conversion. They were all happy to help.

Thanks for the quick responses guys. My bike is out of action until I get this brake line so I'm hoping its only a couple weeks. Its still a little chilly here to ride yet anyway and I have to swap CCT's before it sees any real action. But thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

hondavtr1000sp2- Did you get lines off ebay? If so which ones did you get and what seller was it? I would prefer to use a seller that someone on here has had luck with.

spieglerusa.com does custom lines but they also sell ready made 2inch over for the superhawk for their superbike bars. I've bought from them several times and always easy to work with.

Slabm7 here is a web site, very good customer service, no extra charge for custom length ss lines, just add a note of bike details, color choices, and how many inch's longer than standard you need. Email them any questions, they are happy to help.

Yeah I've been on both Galfers and Spieglers websites and spoke to both and they both offer lots of options and will easily make you whatever you want.

I got mine from: http://www.spieglerusa.com/cfm/customline.cfm
Fast, no hassle service!

The brake lines are 29" and 31", and the clutch line is 44". Lengths were based on my own measurements. Spiegler also includes a nifty tool that allows you to rotate the banjo fitting at the end of the line so there is no twisting of the line when installed.

For the short term, have you unbolted the union where the stock lines split? This will gain you 1-2 inches and will likely get you by till you get the braided lines

No I didn't know you could do that. I will look into that today.

How much did you have to pay for those lines? Thanks

check my post in classifieds about the Venhill lines I can get you. Kinda old so you may have to go back a few pages. Any length you want plus SuperHawk forum discount. No charge for extra length. Good luck with whatever you decide.

IIRC, the set, including a line for the rear brake and a full set of aluminum banjo bolts, was around $250.00.

Call Spiegler.

I called them on Monday morning. They made them and shipped them Monday afternoon. Had them on the doorstep Wednesday afternoon.

$119 shipped. Didn't have to use a middle man.

Did superbike bars, went with +2". They have slack in them.
