Mr. Numb-Nuts, bike thief

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! I have been away for a bit and very busy. The latest news on the Hawk is some numb-nuts tried to steal my baby early one Monday morning during a rainstorm. I thought I heard it startup around 4:30 AM but I told myself it was my imagination and went back to sleep. I was living in an Apt and the SH was under the lighted & covered parking 50 foot from my bedroom window. I sleep with a box fan on high to drown out the gang-sta- rap music that my new residents from New Orleans like to play so loud in their cars late at night. I was leaving for work Monday and noticed my cover was off…what the F#@! I looked closely and could see the cut ignition wires and some damage to the ignition keyhole, but this is how dumb this Numb-Nuts was: The hawk was covered (Nelson-Rigs) Locked with a disk-lock (un-cut-able-nearly un-pick-able) did not check for a disk lock and did not even break the steering lock. Where was Mr. Numb-Nuts going when he did get it started? That’s what pisses me off more than anything, is the un-professionalism of this would be, messy and stupid bike thief. If the numb-nuts had stolen the bike I would have made about $2,000 of the insurance and could have found another Super Hawk.

After slicing the three wires together and heat-shrinking them, replacing the blown 30A main fuse (Thanks Honda Engineers) I was back on the road again. No thanks, to Mr. Numb-Nuts would be, bike thief (don’t quit your day job!) Oh yeah, the bastard did manage to steal my cheap-*** FM radio that was Velcro-ed to the triple clams. That diabolical, evil, master thief Bastard!!!!

Two weeks later I moved into a house with a garage and no gang-sta- rap music, thus far.

Glad they didn't do TOO much damage as the bastard could have put a fist into the tank or some such as he ran off.

Back in my youth, I too had an attempted bike theft in an apartment parking lot. He did the same damage to mine as yours and didn't see the extra locks.

A few weeks later our car was broken into with a rock and the cd player was stolen. CD's had just come out. Anyway, they pulled a print off the exterior (doesn't mean **** legally) and later caught a kid living across the street. He admitted to my car and many others in the complex.

I found a small rent house with a one car garage for only $50 more a month and promptly moved out.

Your amatuer jerk-off may be close by.

I had my first bike stolen: it was a 1986 Honda Hurricane and I came out of my apt about 1 hour later, helmet on, jacket on, ready to go kick some ***. Turns out someone had already kicked my ***. I'm guessing it was picked up into a truck and chopped, because police told me about 40-50 bikes had been taken from that neighborhood in the last 2 years.

"God damn the bike thief, and may we all be so lucky as to catch the next one in the act."
