I am bored at work so i gotta ask a question

Hey guys i am sitting here at work while the shawk awaits in the parking lot. amnd i was thinking of all the bikes i ridding and owned so i figured i gotta ask what else people rode prior to the hawk

first bike: honda dirtbike I dont know what it was cause it could barley be considered a bike.

Street bikes:
1. Honda Interceptor 1985 VF700 Great bike but no 3rd or 5th gear.

2. Honda CBR F1 Hurricane I LOVED THIS BIKE AND I WANTED IT FOR SO MANY YEARS then i bought it and rode the rubber right off the tires....She was a beauty. Yoshi slip ons, stage 1 jet kit, enginge worked on prior to me buying it. The guy i bought it from had reciepts for everything, gas reciepts!!!! i could not believe it. This bike was the best $1200 i ever spent and the best part 5 years later i sold it for $1800 gotta love ebay.

3. Honda CBR 900rr did not get to ride this too much... Damn thieves!!!!!

4. Honda CBR 929rr Rode three times and lent it to my buddy and he came back with a broken tibia and fibia along with a dislocated shoulder and well my bike...umm well it never saw the rode after that....But i must say my buddy did pay for his mistake and thats how i come to own the HAWK

5 Honda VTR 1000F Super hawk I loved this bike because of its nakedness. Its such a beautiful bike this was another bike i wanted since i first saw it. I bought a 2003 last year and it was used with less then 1500 miles on it the guy who owned it went cruiser instead when his wife got home and saw it. I paid $5200 for it and got a sweet deal.

Next bike i want.........THat honda hawk prototype its sweet.....But i may be picking up a 2005 rc51 or the CBR 1000 not sure yet.

If you noticed i have somewhat of a brand prefrence...I do i owned all honda for everthing.
My stable right now is
1. Honda SHawk 2003
2. Honda Prelude 1994
3. Honda Accord 2003
4. Honda Civic 1988

And i wont even go inot the rest of the family. We all got honda

damn i am really bored i typed all of this.... damn i gotta get a more interesting job.

I started off on a Yamaha FZ600, then moved on to a Honda CBR 600F3, then the SuperHawk. I also have a GSXR750, but that's track-only.

As for the four-wheeled variety, I have been all Honda (so far)... Acura Integra, Honda Odyssey, Honda Civic.

Good luck with the boredom-thing at work. I'm sure you can't be done surfing all of the internet yet.

I got that message a few times previously. I just figured the post went through, and checked back later on. I don't understand the language, though. Can anyone explain what the error code means?

So CNI, how does it feel to own a REAL bike now? Those other bikes are absolute stunners though.

Yeah Dog, I get that same message too but my post always go through. Ever since the software upgrade things have gone to............

Interesting that you were a dedicated duc rider and then went to "the dark side". What made you change?

I lusted after duc's from their rep and because the mags always raved about them (70's/80's) as real sport bikes. Since there are/were no dealers for hundreds of miles, I never even got to see one. Then a big dealer branch out down here with a used bike showroom and I finally got to see an early 90's 900SS which was my then current dream bike.

I was devastated to see the sloppy workmanship and poor fit/finished that I didn't realize I had become acustomed to with Hondas. Then there was the price, the maintainence, the lack of dealers, etc.

I hope this doesn't come across as bashing. I'm just relating how easy it was for me to buy a SuperHawk when it first came out.

Exactly all the things you mentioned....
Every Italian machine I've owned or worked on has always had to have the 'bugs' worked out.
We used to joke "this one musta been made after their wine break" implying the Italians took wine breaks instead of coffee breaks! Their designers had the right idea they just couldn't get the laborers to put it together right!
Yes the Honda is much less trouble & less expensive than a Ducati AND is more comfortable! It's a joy to just get on it & ride knowing it will work well & not let me down.
At my age it's not as much fun to always be tinkering with an Italain machine working the bugs out.
Don't get me wrong....when everything is 'right' they are wonderful rides as well as beautiful. It's the getting there that takes time.
These days I just want to ride & not worry about oil leaks :-)

Also...I had a hard enough time getting a $6k motorcycle in the garage....the wife would have really exploded if I brought home a $15k motorcycle !!! The couch is not very comfortable :-)

Re: I am bored at work so i gotta ask a question

1) 1972 suzuki enduro 175cc 2stroke(never found out the model designation) that I inherited from my uncle. he used to give me rides on it when I was 3. no 2nd gear, but long stroke, so I learned to skip it.
2)1987 kawi kx80. awsome in the woods. could keep up with a yz250 no prob.
3)182 suzuki gs450L. first road bike. good learner, but topped out at 85mph.
4) 1992 yamaha seca II. great bike. kinda weak, but taught me tons. managed to surpass max speed of 115mph with a tailwind. got to 125mph.(in the red) still got it, but need to sell or repair.
5) 98 superhawk. had some issues getting to know eachother, but now we are cool. best bike I've ever ridden. still haven't seen all its tricks.

Re: I am bored at work so i gotta ask a question

95 Yamaha virago (used in '00) - great starter bike, thought I would grow into a harley
'01 Kawasaki Coucourse (new) - ST's are the way to go, comfortable in the long hall, still thought I'd grow into a harley... eventually
04 BMW K1200GT - (new) rode one in the Alps, just had to buy one... harley what???
02 superhawk (used last summer) - buddy took me to a track day, the Bemer is fun, but far to heavy... I'll keep the bemer for commuting.

Last weekend left the BMW with heated seats and electric vest in the garage, took the hawk on the polar bear ride (45 degrees), today took the hawk to work. I'm not sure I can get the bemer out of the garage with all the stuff in the way!!!

1998 red honda superhawk. currently at 14k miles. has corbin seat, tinted dbl bbl windscreen, relatively new rubber, full exhaust - erion racing pipes, volt meter, and new gixxer 750 r/r
