How to make engine smoother?

Hi all,

I've been having a blast riding my new '02 Superhawk, and especially switching between it and my 1st gen SV650. One thing that I've noticed, though, is the smoother engine characteristic of the SV. The Superhawk vibrates pretty hard, so going to the SV is like riding a I-4 bike in comparison. The SV is jetted and has a freer flowing intake and slip-on.

What could I do to make the engine smoother? Better jetting? Any specific recommendations? Could someone point me in the right direction?

Have you checked in to mcct's and mosfet rectifier? My engine is smooth, you feel pulses not vibration so much.

I second the balancing..

Bought a TecMate TS-111 synchronizer from Amazon with the necessary plumbing to connect from E-bay to cure this problem.

I too noticed a vibration above and beyond usual V-twin pulses after adjusting idle after doing the TPS mod. Essentially unbeknown to me I had stuffed my balancing by adjusting back to the 1200rpm idle. Thing just felt 'off', rough and generally yuck! I blamed the TPS mod but an experienced riding mate rode it and commented he felt the carby sync was off.. (I hadn't told him what I had done so he was going totally off 'feel').

Balance job done and back to silky smooth Honda V-Twin.. Happy days .
Now sync is on the regular service list.

Probably is a sync issue. My comments were as result of bammer mentioning the bike was "new" to him.
