High Mount Woe's

I have a pair of Jardine high mounts on my bike, and I love the way they sound and love the way they look. Unless I ride with the ***** of my feet off the peg, my heels end up hitting the up pipes all the time. I purchased some Dan Moto rear sets and this has only made it worse sadly. Does anyone else have this issue?

You should post some pics. Is the problem comfort or melted boots (or both).

I am sure I could come up with some creative solutions if you post up pics.

Yeap, Had that issue... adjustable footpegs, could help...

High mounts were designed for lean angle clearance.. Not so much -for stop and go travel....

I had the same issue when I had the Jardines, it was irritating to say the least. I fixed it by switching to D&D low mount.

Wolfie, I got the MIGs complete exhaust, with the High mount cans.. on the track S-hawk, wrapped all pipe- from the Head-to Can.. solved the heat problem in the boots......yet melted (burned) the carbon can sleeve....

I have the same pipes. My size 13 shoes do hit the pipes, but strangely, they do not melt at all. I have some Moriwaki rearsets coming and I hope I won't have issues with those.

Captainchaos is currently selling some high mount Jardines in the classifieds and they came with some heat shields. Have a look at those and maybe make something like that. That's my plan if I ever start to melt any of my shoes.

+1

I end up riding with my heels angled out slightly to be on the ***** of my feet. For me it's not that big an issue, more like an annoyance. If anything I'd like to move the pegs slightly forward. So far adjustable pegs are too pricey for me but at the right price I would go for a pair.

Which will move the annoyance even closer to your heel. I didn't go to lows because of this. My carbon was getting to be a couple years old and we all know it doesn't last forever. The combination of the 2 and the fact that I wanted to shorten pipes to get more bB sealed the deal. Aluminum is easier to cut, at least to me.
