Was kinda wondering ,,,,,,,,, I'm big enough that I cannot see anything but elbows out of my rear view mirrors.
Could anyone suggest a solution ? Do they make extenders for the stock conf.?
As all ways thanX's for the response.

Everyone has the same problem. I just fold my elbows in when I need to use the mirrors. I've heard that some R6 mirrors fit perfectly and are longer. You can also get mirror extenders, but I think they don't look very good.

I've seen the FZ1 mirrors being used, of course the bike looks like a bug, but they are very good for seeing things behind you...lol

I've also got a set of mirror extenders. they don't really alter the look. Only another SH owner would notice the difference. They really do help!

Heya, Lman! There was a recent post by a guy that works in a Yamaha dealership and he compared the '03 to '05 (?) mirrors to those on his Superhawk and they matched perfectly. The only difference is that the "arms" are longer on the Yamaha mirrors so you see less of your arms and more of the road behind you. Pull a search for "mirrors" and you may run across the post. It's been in the last month or so. I'm in Austin so if you're coming through on the VTX give me a holla! I'm in far NW Austin so if you're south of downtown SA you'll need to stop for gas if you drive the 'Hawk. Is it starting to feel like a better ride for you?

To the guys with the mirror extenders. If you find yourself Taking your mirrors off in the future. Could you measure the spacer and take pictures of any other components that go along with them. Making a set is on my list of things to do this winter. So if I can cheat a little it would help. Please dont go out of your way and take them off just for this. Thanx

I have the FZ1 mirrors that CNIDAWG sold a little while back and as far as vision goes they work great. They do stick way out there though and it does take a little time to get use to them especially if you're a minamalist like me but they do work really well.

I don't think it matters but you do have to modify them by either drilling and sticking a screw in the base or swap bases with the SH mirrors because the angle is wrong. There's a thread on here with specific instructions on what needs to be done.

I guess I am the only person who does not mind the mirrors on the FIRESTORM.

Even though, I am 5'11" and 235lbs(almost wider than I am tall), I have no problems seeing behind me.

I have gone to bar end mirrors. They are the best alternative in my opinion.
I have tried the R1 mirror, extenders, and the bar end seems to work the best, at least for me it does.
