got a chance
Well it has been cold here in the Carolinas for a while so, Wednesday it was in the high 50's. So I finally got a chance to take the bike out for a spin. It's gonna be a long cold winter. Had to get my fix in. We need some of that "global warming" weather to help me make it through this winter.
i rode wed. also, it was warm enough for only a jacket and liner. yesterday and today are nice but colder. worked on the vw instead of riding and i ordered a new front tire. old front is cracking. rear is new shinko 006, which seams to grip well, when with a 005 supposedly a litter stickier. but still good in poor weather.
wishins for fairies. get yourself a set of hot grips, mitts/covers for your clipons, heated vest that hooks into your battery tender plug and ride anytime the roads are dry. I do 50-75 mile runs all the time with temps in the 20's. Oh yeah, and you'll need a balaclava to keep your neck warm and a anti fog insert for your shield. Basically for two to three hundred, you can significantly extend your riding season. An added benefit is that it makes riding in the 50-60s more enjoyable and comfortable. It's like earplugs in that you can focus and enjoy the ride much more when you are not trying to stay warm.

Well the weather reader says it may be in the high 50's this weekend after the snowfall we got the other day.
