If you have TONS of time and unlimited space then MAYBE. But think of all the dismantling, packaging, shipping, etc.

Usually buying a big liability (jail sentence). I would not take it on and I just replaced the whole rear suspension on my 95 astro van by myself.

Why do you say that about the jail sentence? All you have to do is look at some of the comonent prices on eBay. If the bodywork and wheels are in great shape, I would think you could get most of your money back right there. If you got the time, space, and knowhow, you could make a buck. Or just repair it yourself and sell it for 4x that.

Take a little time and look at the eBay auctions already running, and some if the bike parts in our classifieds, excluding the parts you want for yourself. I've got a friend with a storage bldg where he strips old bikes he buys, and parts them on eBay. He makes about 10k a year doing that. (so he said).
