Garage door opener

I was wondering if anyone has come up with a cool modification for your garage door opener? Found this flash2pass product online but ??????? http://www.f2ptechnologies.com/produ...otorcycle.html

When I was getting my door fixed a year or so ago, they showed me a key fob sized one that I bought on the spot, I've never looked back. All those YEARS of keeping that bulky thing in my jacket finally came to an end! Was tempted to wire one into the bike and hook it up to my unused flash-to-pass button amusingly enough

remote

Agreed. Key chain remote is great. I keep it on the same ring as the motorcycle key. I put a small patch of Velcro-type material on the back of the remote, and on the triple tree. That keeps the remote handy and it doesn't move around from the wind. Plus, when I remove my key and take it with me so goes the remote.

How hard is it to code one of the small keychain garage door openers? I've got an old opener and my remote is the size of zack morris's saved by the bell cell phone. Lol

Smile program door opener

It depends on what type of garage door opener you have installed. Mine is a Genie with the rolling codes. I have to push a button on the door opener motor, then push the button on the remote. They should learn to talk to one another. (or something like that - I have not programmed one in a long time).

It is as easy to program the small remotes as the larger ones.

As always, YMMV. And this message may self destruct in 10, 9, 8, ....

cool thanks man, ive never programmed one so thats why i was asking. thinking of getting a small remote, nothing worse than having to go into the house to open the damn garage, usually the gf hears me and is kind enough to push the button. but not always, lol

I have that opener. I hid it just above the headlight housing, under the fairing. The price sucks, but it works awesome.

i used a fob opener until i got a key pad. i just pull up, punch the code in, ride inside. i don't even get off my bike. no nuissance fob at all. no transferring fob between jackets.

Take key fob apart, wire into flash to pass button, seal up against water/moisture... Done... I just ride straight in...

The US spec bikes doesn't have a flash-to-pass button... Euro spec switches have... Search on the forum and you'll find a writeup on how to swap... (I didn't need to... )

I ended up going with a key fob remote. It was like $12 on amazon and took about 3 seconds to program

The flash2pass device works through the high beam. Don't know if that would be cheaper than adding the flash to pass button and a key fob or not.

Well, since I had the buttom to start with I just wired in the keyfob switch so that the same button operates both the flash to pass through the headlight and the button for the keyfob... Since the keyfob is powered from the bike (except from a battery for memory) its sending at the same time when I flash a dofus to get outta my way isn't draining any battry and then it's no problem...

But yeah, getting a new switch to get the button would add to the cost... I'm just lazy and hate having that thing on the bike keys...
