Fuel Tank and Fairings

So I had an accident in Oct and im looking for a fuel tank and fairings for my 99 VTR1000...cant seem to find much for the older models at a reasonable price. Also does anyone know if the fairing kits off a new style vtr (00-05ish) can be modified to fit the f style body?

Modified? Aside from color the VTR fairings are all the same.

:edit: Unless you are talking about the RVT fairings... then yes, many have modified those to fit. Search around a bit and you'll find many threads on it.

Well I contacted a few places on Ebay and was told the fairings were differnent for the newer models and would not bolt up. The center fairing for the headlight was different as far as I could tell...

I checked out a few threads regarding the ebay kits and people state they are junk....sorry im new to this forum...still trying to figure it out

VTR1000F fairings are all the same, guaranteed. I assume you're contacting sellers on eBay selling the Chinese fairings for the RVT1000R which is a different bike.

You're confusing the Superhawk with the RC51 SP1/SP2. Different bike - different fairings.

Ah, I see. At any rate...still having trouble finding a kit for it vs buying each individual fairing OEM which is very pricey

I"ll have some oem fairings listed on eBay within the next week if you're interested. Not mint, but not bad.

KS -
ok I'm willing to part with a left & right side fairing , black with Red logo
all original ordered from Honda in a box , MINT !
I bought the VTR from my buddy and he had purchased the black fairings
I prefer red .. Red VTR's are faster and handle better anyway

Its for a 98 but all plastics are compatible so your good
not sure on the selling price yet , but it cost $600 .

I was planning on putting an add in the Classifieds so lucky you,
You get first dibs!!

All superhawk bodywork is the same besides obviously the color. Are you looking for a particular color? I know '99 came in black and yellow, and I have a near mint left side in the oem pearl shining yellow if you're interested. I sold it awhile back on ebay and the guy never paid for it...PM me if you're interested and I can get you pics/details.

Yep fuel cap with key included. The Firestorm was produced for a few years with a larger capacity tank, but the one I have is the regular version which is 100% identical to the Superhawk tank.

I might be interested in that too, so if he doesn't jump on it, let me know. (I still need a yellow left side)
