I still think you'll find if you do some plug chops or check with an exhaust
gas meter that your running way lean with the K&N, especially given you have
not even rejetted.

Dose anyone have a set of stock Superhawk mirrors that they would
willing to part with for a reasonable price? The lockheart phillips
replacement mirrors on the bike now are terrible. They are too small,
short, and very difficult to adjust. Thanks for your help!

go to down load a service manual for the VTR. I have a hard cover hayes
manual, but I would like to see what Honda has to say before I start
wrenching on my bike. Thanks!

I'm gonna ride it for a couple weeks and then Dyno it and see. I might just jettison the K&N and re-dyno to see how much it helps or hinders the current setup. Perhaps I'll just do a run and pull the filter there on the spot.

What's a "plug chop"?

I'll post up the results.

That "feature" is actually pretty annoying. if you're going to send me
an emil, why not send me the text of the "new" post?

And there's nothing to say that an email list can't be searched the same
way a message board can.

thread topics? that's what we have subject lines for.

Searchable text? Currently all of the posts are saved, look at
http://www.runlevelzero.net/pipermail/superhawk/
as far as searching through them, your current options are to download
the files and manually search through them. However, web-based search
options do exist, and can be implemented into Greg K's site.
for example (and I've posted this before)
http://www.hawkgt.com/archives/hawkgt-l.asp
This search function works great.

And one more thing, try getting your email NOT in digest version. You'll
see actual HTML posts instead of gobldy gook crap, and you can sort out
subjects you don't want to read and DELETE them.

Use fresh or lightly blast and chem clean the OEM plugs... (horrors! rather than use a new plug) for a series of runs which you chop short with the kil switch and look at for burn indicators; preferably in good light with a magnifier for old eyes.

yeah. i'm presently bikeless (well... i got 2, but i'm still rebuilding
one and the SH will be my winter project). even if i had a running bike, i'd
not ride up for such a brief trip. 'too many expressway hours for my mind or
my back to stomach. Jim graciously offered to loan me one of his bikes, or
i'll grab a scooter .

but my wife (who won't be riding) would try and come up if there are any folks
also not riding who wanna explore some unusual areas of interest in the region
surrounding the Porter ranch.

my wife asked me to list some specific places she'd like to
visit:

1. Glensheen Mansion (where the Congdon murder occured)
2. location where the Duluth Lynchings took place
3. Feeffie (worlds largest mosquito)
4. Ely (the Rootbeer Lady memorial).
5. The Grasshopper Chapel
etc.
and of coarse The Spam Museum, considered the best museum in the United
States by famous literary genius, Jerome Pohlen.

Seems like yesterday

or just a short nap ago that I have still not woke up from, and during a really tough time from which I have not yet fully recovered (business wise thanks to my ex-partners and W).
