Finally Got My Dream Bike!!

Hi, how's everyone doing today? I'm a new registered user here and also a new VTR1000F Superhawk owner. Congratulations to myself!! I recently purchased a 03' superhawk from a Honda dealership, $6850.68 out of door with a 2-year extended warranty (Honda Protection Plan). When I picked up the bike it only had 1054 miles on it, almost brand new!! My hawk came with a ZeroGravity smoke windshield and aftermarket blinkers. The previous owner was a 40-year-old man who purchased this bike new from the same dealership, he rode the bike for a couple of month and then he got married so he took the hawk back to the same dealer and traded it in for a brand new goldwing. Since he's an experienced rider so I'm assuming that he did a good job on breaking in the engine.

Before I bought the hawk I was also looking at a 03' gixxer 600 alstare at the same dealership for the same price as my hawk ($5998.00). Thanks to this website for helping me make the right decision.

I put 120 miles on the bike the day I picked it up from the dealership. The bike is superisingly easy to ride unlike other super sport inline fours that you have to lean forward a lot. It also has a very strong low end power first thru second gear that beats all other liter bikes.

I'll be posting the picture of my hawk as soon as I get a chance.

Thank You All!!! 8)

I too just purchase a new (to me) Superhawk. '98, 5.8k, beautiful!! I'm looking forward to several mods, including risers, taller windscreen, etc. I'm SO excited!! I put 500 miles on over the holiday weekend and I just love it. Any and all suggestions would be appreciated!! By the way, I'm a tad inseam challenged. Is there any way to effectively lower this thing?

Learn the one-cheek-sneak.

You *could* pull the triples up higher along the forks, but too much will have serious handling repercussions.

Congrats to you both....I've had my '05 for just over a year now. I think I'm still as psyched on it as I was when I rode it home. I still check it out in the garage every night before I hit the sack (a bit much I know).
My kids roll their eyes at me all the time when I come in and ask "who's kick-*** bike is that out there?" lol.
Enjoy!!!

I've got the "sneak" down pat

I've read that could be a problem. I don't want to do anything that's going to cause me problems.
