Dumb 929 Cosmetic Question

Dumb 929 Cosmetic Question
I know this is the wrong forum, but it's one of my favorite for getting info regarding my wonderful yellow Superhawk, so I'll ask away. I added a 2001 CBR929RE (Erion) to the stable last week and took it out for the first time last night. The center of the steering stem nut on the handle bar top bridge is completely open--you're just looking down a "black hole." This seems to be very "un-Honda," but the fiche doesn't show any cover insert, so I'm guessing this is right. Any 929/954 types on this forum care to comment?
Thanks,
Steve

Re: Dumb 929 Cosmetic Question
Thanks for the quick response. I guess that's just the way they are...it just doesn't look "Honda".... (However, I ain't throwin' the bike away. I've never ridden a suspension this nice, not to mention 150hp/379lbs.)

Yeah it's a different animal for sure. I totally redid my SH front end so I know what you mean about suspension. I'm whittling away at the weight but I don't think I can get it that light and I know I can't match HP but I got tourque!

Re: Dumb 929 Cosmetic Question
Go to your local Honda dealer, get another VTR steering stem cap.
Then cut a one inch length of 1/4 fuel line, the thick wall stuff, and push it into the steering stem hole.
Insert VTR plug, done.
That's what I did to my 929 front end after crafting it on to the VTR.
First pic shows how that looks.
