Wow....must be nice to be able to afford that kind of hardware...even nicer for someone to give you a fully built race bike and say "here you are, now go run the crap out of it"

What?! That never happened to you?

I have had race mechanics scold me pretty loudly for riding to slowly on just about any class racebike you can name except current crop MotoGP's... Apparently going to slow is something they take as a personal insult...

(Plus it's actually dangerous to some degree since the bike isn't built for puttering around...)

lol, two years! The more research i do it seems a whole new suspension is in order if you really plan on riding the hawk aggressively for many thousands of miles....

Not necessarily. Proper technique and a setup bike is the majority of what you need to ride fast. I was dragging knee like a champ with the bike totally stock. Some suspension bling def. helps though.

Not looking for bling, just reliable in a nature that i could safely and feel comfortable pushing it to the edge. I knowing I' comparing apples and oranges here but the last bike I had the 03 650sv was extremely scary at times coming through the apex then all odf a sudden the front feels weird like it's going to wobble or tuck on me at any time with the result always backing off and standing the bike more upright.... Obviously, this bike is going to handle better than the Sv, however, I live in the Bay area where we have some of the best (famous) riding spots in the country and I I certainly enjoy a very spirited ride through the canyons and plan to hit some of the local tracks once I get a few things in order. Long and short of it is the bike I bought is going to be around me for a very long time and as I mentioned in another thread I'm takng classes and will be earning a mechanics certificate from my local college right now so this is going to be the project bike for me... I've been riding now for 14 years and logged something over 150k miles.

From what I understand the hawk is greatly improved upon with a new front end as not only is it more of a race bred system in general but you get better adjustability, braking, and as you mentioned bling ; ) I'm not thinking about going to crazy on the front end, probably 954 parts because my buddy has a 954 and the thing feeels PLANTED to the ground, unless you ggo WOT of course.... Anyhow, I know I have a ton of reading to do before even begin to decide which direction I'd like to go in much less start buying and putting parts on. In your opinion without going too crazy which is the best front assembly replacement in terms of keeping the bike as flick able or more flick able than stock which having the ability for massive rotors and calipers (god I wish I won the lottery, can we say Brembo without cumming in our shorts?)

Talk about bling, that Rc-51swing arm couldn't be sexier and I thought i saw a black frame for sale too the other day, jeez, I could spend 40k on a hawk or a hawk with many "options."
