Difference between FireStorm and SuperHawk

As the title says what's the difference?

The Firestorm has 10 more horsepower.

No, not really.

Blue Ridge Boy 05-11-2008 02:51 PM

stickers.....and.....um..........more stickers.

eugeneutopia 05-11-2008 03:03 PM

Think about it.. Firestorm... if you were a SUPER Hawk, you would be the one bird out there, besides maybe a Phoenix, to survive a fire storm (storm of fire) while flying around.

Just a thought

Just kidding

Stickers, a few smog item's that we Europeans never bothered with and a larger tank in the 01 onwards years... That's about it...

eugeneutopia 05-11-2008 04:05 PM

Yummmm.... larger tank. Yes, please!

drew_c14 05-11-2008 04:32 PM

I also hate having a small tank, so I converted the back tire into an aux tank. Works out well until it gets about half empty. Balance gets kind of sketchy after that.

Tweety 05-11-2008 04:35 PM

Well have fun looking...:)

They go for up to 500€ used on German or UK eBay... That would be around 750$... plus shipping... (About 1000$ new here in Sweden)

That is if you through a small miracle happen to find one... I have been looking for a while now...

I'm thinking I'll go for a VFR one instead... that's even bigger plus it's a lot easier to find and cheaper...:)

I have UK spec carbs on my bike.....has a simple "X" head on the air mix screw and requires no special tools or drilling to get to. A great $175 spent!

If you've got $1800USD to burn...

No offense, but it would seem to me that it would be a little bit more, um....economical to just buy the Euro mixture screws and have them sent across the pond.

5.3 gallons $1235

rbrais 05-12-2008 07:52 AM

No running lights on the front signals on the Firestorm.

tudor 05-12-2008 07:59 AM

performance of VTR varies between Europen acountries as well---from 78kW to 81kW..donīt know why

Tweety 05-12-2008 11:52 AM

Usually for insurance purposes... Some countries had in the late 90'ies rules that made it a lot cheaper to register and insure a big displacement "sportstourer" once it was restricted... the only difference is a small ring in the carb rubber inlet...

Also some rules regarding what licence was required to operate a restricted vs non-restricted bikes in some countries...

In Sweden many of them came factory restricted to 72kW...

I wish I'd thought of that;)
I had a problem removing the cap on my emissioned carbs. The drill slipped and gouged out the carb casing. I looked for a parts broker.....and 2 days later a set of almost new carbs at my door step in Newquay, Corwall, England. Linkage, hoses, and boots included.

joshuatest 05-12-2008 05:45 PM

um.... did anybody mention the stickers are different?
