Danmoto rearsets for VTR
 

Man thats not a bad deal, and exactly what alot of people on here have been looking for. Nice find.

Good old danmoto. Now someone on here has to buy and test them.

still cheaper than every other set out there. Someone just sold a non ajustable set or mori's on here the otherday for $350. either way i think it might be a pretty decent alternative concidering we were all waiting for one of the members to attempt to make them but never has....

I know what you mean, I have been looking for some adjustable rearsets too, but i didnt expect that I might end up as the guiny pig.... haha. I guess someone always has to be thought.

Well, the only parts that can really "fail" are the CF shields, the bolts (although they talk about "high grade, no mild steel" like everyone else) and the bearings... Other than that, the alu pieces looks chunky enough that they are unlikely to outright fail, and I believe they have enough of QC and/or customer service to fix it if there are any other blatant errors...

And like I did with my much, much cheaper Chinese rear sets, you can always swap in a pair of better bearings, and swap a few bolts, and still come out ahead of what the expensive rear sets cost... And if you are lucky, just dab a little thread lock on the bolts, and you are good to go... And that's really recommended for the expensive one's too...

The CF parts are a little more complicated perhaps, but making replacements out of a sheet of CF or thin alu shouldn't be too difficult...

I do suppose that is very true, as long as they have a nice sturdy feel, and change the riding position a bit to accommodate for my long legs then I shouldn't have any issues.

Hmm.. looks good. The question I have is will the set move the pegs down and back far enough to make it worth while? Or would the Buell peg mod be a better/less $$ option?

I'm not sure about the buel pegs but I do know that with the adjustable rearsets the brake master and shift leverage with the set so It doesn't make either too far away for comfortable shift/braking. But on the same hand I'm not sure how much adjustment there is in the danmoto rear sets either.

You know many types of stainless (CRES) can bend & break easily but yes easily replaced with Class 12.9. Interesting caveat they expound on regarding no brake return spring.


Apples n' oranges These are "racing" rearsets which can provide more leg room but increases knee bend & places more weight on wrists (Superbike bars would help here if you have a sway back). The Buell peg mod was the poor man's option to MFW Vario pegs (see below)

I understand that the Buell peg mod is not really the same fruit. My thought was to lower the pegs a bit and as a bonus get a little better positioning and function of the the gear and brake controls. Considering the info you provided the Vario pegs look like a better option for me.

I have ordered a set of Dan Moto rear sets.

I am in Australia and doubt that I will be the first to fit them as they won't be going on until I have my modified braced swingarm finished.


I will post on their quality when I receive them.


They cost $207- OZ shipped and I should get them in the next week or so!
