In dirtbike school, I have the students practice this; come to complete stop keeping your feet on the footpegs, hold it as long as possible then take off as soon as you start to lean over. This teaches braking, clutch control, balance and acceleration all in one drill.
Mind you, this are dirtbikes. This does take practice. But honing ones' skills on a dirtbike is perfect training for streetbikes. Not the other way around. Streetbike riders are my worst students, if they have never been on a dirtbike. They all crash within the first hour.

I can attest to that. On a streetbike, I ride with confidence. In the dirt, I'm a newb trying to find the ground.

I could do it better when I was younger, on a 88'/89' Ninja 600. Went to a black and orange poker run one time. After 7 minutes on the "slow ride" portion of the skills contest, they conceded the trophy, lol! I just held high rpm in the 7K range, slipped the clutch as necessary and loaded the chassis against a turned (cocked for zmaniv) front wheel and creeped. On the hawk, I just give them their due and dip a foot, or just blow through it.

For us in the UK, there's no lawa that says we have to come to a stop when we get to what we call a "give way" sign.
I find that LOTS of steering input and a short sharp stab on the clutch in first does it, but you have to stop the froward motion after a couple of inches with the back brake each "stab".
So you're making the bike jump forward a couple inches each time.
