Beautiful Scenery Pic!

I've got a few cruddy ones with my phone and I don't think my sis is likely to let me borrow her 15.1mp camera when I go for a ride in the mountains for more than one reason.

it is a good pic indeed, and even more stunning in real time. This particular resevoir is the source of many great views based on the time of day, stillness of the water and season. So beautiful you are forced to slow down and savor it. Below link shows it in the summer.

I used to live in Reno, NV. I didn't have a bike when I lived there, but wanted one. Always wanted to take that trip to Virginia City from Reno, lots of nice twisties to hit.

Well I leave to go back up to WA on Thursday. The weather is going to be in the 80s in Fallon so I may have to get in one last ride for the season before I get back up to WA... Ill check it out. Thanks for the tip.

Yes it is! we had a blast except for two things. 1) snow was melting and some of the corners had streams across them. 2) So far my experiance is cagers dont like to use the slow vehicle turnouts. But even with weather in the 50's the road kept our minds off the chilly temps.

I drove the truck up there the day before our ride to visit a friend in North Tahoe but I got lost and ended up taking 50 up and then 431 down... 50/395 looked like it was going to be fun with the fast sweepers and smooth pavment. The following day everyone was beat up from the ride out there that when we turned around to go home they didnt want to ride the extra miles south to meet the 395.

Yea, 431 is an awesome twisty road with some amazing views, and 341 up the Virginia City Highlands is pretty amazing as well. Lots of nice curves and elevations. You'll even see wild horses up that road. Pretty cool stuff, I would love to visit and ride it someday.

It's always cool for me to see all the historical sites... we didn't have much of that where I grew up. It was always in books and very far away. Would love to get out to the east coast at some point, it's just never been in the plans. Maybe next summer...
Some more Colorado:
Edit: Brown's lake, in the Roosevelt Nat'l Forest
Western slope, somewhere along the Colorado river (can't remember where exactly)
