Avatars and those helmet thingys - help for forum newbies

Gidday

Now i've been around a while ( long live RLZ ) and have been on the VTR/Superhawk mailing list since the SportTwin days...

thing is i'm new to this forum-format and so feel like a bit of newbie again ( ha! never thought i'd feel like that again...)

what's up with the red helmets under people's avatars?

and is an avatar just a image that you've found or have stored - how do i download one to my sign in and i see there's a kb limit - what if i find a cool pic of me being cool ( unlikely but i'm always hoping ) but it's over the kb limit?

cheers for the advice

Shaggie

Hello your Shaggie-ness,

Go into your profile section for info on how to upload your own personal avitar. Note: it needs to be real small (100x100 pixels or so).

Click "Ranks" in the Board Navigation window to see what the helmets mean.

Welcome to the site - Avatars can be any pic you upload, they just have to be small in pixel size.
