Anyone know the part number???

The Superhawk front Fairing Stay has a wire harness clip on each side of it.

Both my clips are broken and I want to order new ones.

Anyone know the correct part number for it?

I've scoured the fiches and it is really difficult to tell which are the correct clips...

I can provide pictures if that would help...

(If you find it, please type the correct fiche and number on the fiche so I know where you're looking)

Thanks!
James

The bendable tabs are tack welded directly to the subframe so are not obtainable seperately.

Velcro straps as an alternative

If you mean the black plastic tie that plugs onto the buttons on the subframe it looks like no. 19 CLIP, CABLE (20MM)

Not talking about the tack welded tabs. Was referring to the plastic zip ties that clip into each side of the front fairing stay, behind the headlight. Does that make sense?

Does that additional description help?

Isn't that item 19 that Wicky describes above?

i wasn't disagreeing with him. I'm just not sure from the picture. How can you guys tell? Is it that obvious? Am i just missing something when i look at the fiche???

Also, why does it list two 19's and not just one with "2" in the "req'd" column?

I don't know and I'm not sure that's the part. Just seemed like it from your description. I don't see two 19's in the picture, either, though I understand there are two on the bike. Maybe that's not the right part. Perhaps the repeated item 19 in the list is due to the replaced by note.

I've got a spare front subframe in front of me which I've repainted - there are two detachable black cable tie clips, identical except one has a cable length of 105mm and the other 85mm. If you get two No.18s as you originally stated both of yours were broken, then you won't go far wrong with the 105mm clips. If the extra 20mm of plastic tie worries you just cut off the surplus.

I believe you will find that cable clip in the wiring harness section
Honda Motorcycle Parts 2001 VTR1000F A WIRE HARNESS Diagram

They mark them for 10mm, 20mm, 25mm, 30mm and 105mm. Pick the diameter you need and go.

EDIT: Wait.. I think I know the plastic parts your talking about.... ok, NO I do not think they show on any parts fiche. I can check the OEM site I go to the shop later.. as it will often have parts available not seen on Ronayers or Partszilla

This is quite confusing Wicky... The fiche mentions 20 & 25mm cable clips, but you mention 105mm...???

Eric: i do think the clip is on that fiche, but we're (i'm) confused about which clip it is.

Let's just take up a collection so the deats can order two of each and we can be done with this. We're talking about $20.

I pledge $1.

Or, we can wait for E. To get back to us.

I vote for throwing money at the dilemma.

thedeatons I don't know what more I can do to dispel your confusion - I have in front of me two clips taken off by my own hand from the front subframe of a '97 VTR - I have provided the link to the VTR loom fiche from Ronayers that features various clips - I have then measured them for you as being the same but each one differs in having 105 and 85 mm straps. This has led me to perhaps erroneously conclude that: STRAP, CABLE (105MM) 90672-SB2-003 will replace the broken clips you have.

If you want a different answer or specifically want 20 & 25mm cable clips, as I am admitedly an amateur, then please phone your local Honda dealer who will much better identify what you're looking for from their own files.

Sorry guys... I didn't mean to make this complicated or upset anyone.

I'll try and talk to the dealer this week. If I get them involved, and the wrong part comes in, then it's on them... so returns will be easier

(I know for sure it is not part 18, because I just ordered that 105mm clip. It mounts to the main frame, near the thermostat. It does NOT mount on the front fairing stay by the headlight... Not saying anyone is wrong, just that the diagram is confusing)

James - Please post the correct P/N#s once you determine them as I need these too. Seems like they get brittle after a period of time and I broke both of mine.

I HAVE THE ANSWER!!!!

My local dealer helped me today, as they had some parts in stock to compare

Turns out the front fairing stay has two small posts that these clips mount to. Repeat: the clips mount on posts, they do not push into holes.

I had Part 18 with me, and we all verified it wasn't correct.

They had Part 20 on hand, and it was not the same either.

Then we got to Part 19.... There were two Part 19s listed. The first one was discontinued. That is the original Part 19 (90690-GHB-611). The "new" Part 19 (90690-GHB-661) is the superceded part.

The original part was a zip tie style clamp, and they seem to break easy...

The superceded part looks more like a Pac Man, or a "C" style clamp that swings shut.

The dealer had two of the superceded parts in stock for a total of aboit $3, so i bought them.

Problem solved!

Thanks to all who have helped!!!!!

James
