So in my never ending quest for knowledge, I am trying to fix the cd part of a sony beatbox I have. I opened it and wiped the lens with a q tip. The disc doesn't spin so I think the laser is bad.

Whole cd part removed but how do I find what laser can be swapped in? Model is cfd-757.

I have been searching google and reading instructionals but still stuck.

 

I'd guess if your disk isn't spinning then the motor or transmission belts are the problem rather than the static laser.

Probably more to fix than to buying a new one. but did you download the repair manual

I read a bunch that the disc wont spin until the laser reads so that was my logic. I will look at that link, thanks.

The other problem with that download site is that the files have advertising attachments. Have you downloaded from them w/o issue?
