Another UK Stormin Hawker
OK folks I have been a lurker for far too long now and I am getting worried my account may get cancelled https://www.superhawkforum.com/forum...23/#post346441
Anyway there has been numerous times when I have felt like replying to threads/posts and I feel it's time I started to contribute something.
As you can gather from the title I am based in the UK so unfortunately I wont be able to go on any ride outs with you guys. Saying that though, it is a dream of mine to do a road trip along route66 one day.
I feel like I have already got to know you guys from your posts and some of you a bit more through correspondence on the UK forum. I'm sure those that don't know me soon will. I have also got to know your search facility very well lol
Please forgive any mistakes I may make with regards to posting as this is my first post and need to get my around links, quotes etc. I'm sure I will get the hang of it soon.

I have never understood why guys call them Chickens. A Hawk don't look nothing like a Chicken. It's a bit like comparing a fighter jet to a Jumbo that's been grounded.

I love motorcycling but, Now this might sound strange, but I don't watch the Motorcycle GP or Superbikes. For some reason I can't get into it like I do Formula one. I haven't religiously watched motorcycle racing on the TV since the day's of Barry Sheene, where I would watch it as a kid at my grandparents house. For the more up to date characters/sportsmen I enjoyed Carl Fogarty when in he was racing and I'm a fan of The Doctor
TBH though massive respect to alll those guys that race motorcycles professionally for a living. I have ***** and may be slightly insane at times, but those guys are just nuts combined with skill and talent. I have had broken bones before (femur twice) and it is just mind blowing how these guys will still race with a broken fingers and what not.
It's basically a form of expression, relief from something that has taken time or is taking a long time or impressive, surprising, shocking.
Example
In the old Black & White comedy films over here (in the old days) a male would look at a good looking females pair bouncing away in a tight top while walking down the street. This would then catch the attention of a male
and he would stop, stare and say "cor blimey" lol
Or like you have read something that has taken some time to get through or has dragged on a bit. So it could be used as "blimey that took ages" over the years the cor seems to have got dropped from the language, but there is times when some people may still use it, and it is used to over emphasise the blimey, so it could be used like "cor blimey that took forever"
There endeth the old English lesson for today.

It's funny you mention the eyeball I have had it in Photoshop today and reduced the file size a bit, got spot on 100px X 100px, and re-animated all 250 frames on layers, then re-compressed for web. I still can't get it to work
so I'm not sure if the forum supports animated gif's. I have tried both uploading direct and an external image host.
I have a feeling it could be down to file size even though in the Edit Avatar control it says the following:
I have 100 X 100px but the file size of my avatar is 631 KB 
A bit more research and playing around is in order I think.
I could compress it more to get the file size down, but then it loose it's stare

Don't mention Soccer, UK football whatever you want to call it. I absolutely detest it. Give me motorsport any day of the week.

Not to quarrel with cybercarl about how "blimey" is used, it appears to be a corruption of "God blind me" which is a very hardcore. When it comes to expressions, the British don't fool around.

I have not heard that one. "for god sake" or for christ's sake" which can be used in frustration like "for gods sake get on with it", it an alternative to "fxxks sake if one prefers not to swear. If there are kids around, rather than "o *****" use "o sugar" lol

I used to spend all day out there as a despatch rider. Like any big city London has it's pro's and con's. The biggest problem for me is that there are no open roads near me so always do a tank of gas just getting to and back from open roads. Otherwise it's just heavy traffic, and cagers with no clue of what they are doing or what's going on around them.
I wouldn't call myself a fan any more than a Superbike fan, but there are times when I would watch either and enjoy it. As for riding bikes I have not been on an off roader for years. I do tend to lean more towards the sports/sports tourer.
