Am I too tall for the VTR1000F?

Am I too tall for the VTR1000F?
Hi! I do now own a Suzuki SV650S, and it is a bit too small for me. My elbows crashes with my knees, and I have trouble fitting behind the windscreen.
I want to go over to a bigger bike, I think a bit about the SV1000, but it seems to be about exactly the same size. I am about 6,3 feet tall.
Is the VTR1000F bigger then these bikes? Is the driving style any different?
Is there anyone as tall as me riding the VTR?
Thanks in advance, this seems like a really good bike!

I'm 6'7", wouldn't ride anything else =) I did have troubles getting behind the stock windscreen, then I got a Bubble style one off eBay for $20. My glasses are just above the top of the new windscreen and I can still see the guages perfectly.

I'm 6' 3" and I've sat on many sport bikes from a GSXR 600 to a ZX10 in search of one that fit. The hawk is far more comfortable. I always found the others to have a tank or fairing that caught me in the knees.

Thank you everybody for your replies! Very quick, and very informative!! I feel confident that this bike would fit well for me!
On my SV650, my knees now go on the side of the upper edge on the tank, soI need to spread the legs quite a bit, so when I then try to get behind the windscreen, my elbows has to go on the outside of my legs, and that's really not to comfortable sitting like this...
I love the instant v-twin-carburettor-torque from my SV650, tried a 2004 VFR800, but it didn't really satisfy my need for torque and throttle response. It seems like the VTR is what I am looking for!

6'5" with a 40" inseam. A 2XL Tall jacket fits me quite well. I make a habit of sitting on every sport-bike in the showroom when I go in to buy parts. Most that I try out are way too small, usually knee clearance issues...especially the baby sized 600's.
Back in '98 when the SuperHawk first appeared, I sat on one to test the fit and knew immediately that I would have one for my very own some day. It took 5 years, but I finally got one and have no doubts that it is the closest thing a perfect fit in as sport-style setup.
When in full tuck my elbows rest quite comfortably on top of my knees with forearms parallel to thighs. The stock windscreen is very short indeed! I doubt that any adult with enough legs to touch the ground will be able to get low enough to sit behind it!

Weird. I can put my heels down, even with my feet away from the bike a bit, and I'm 5-8-1/2. I guess I have long legs and a short torso though. And lightweight. I was genetically designed to ride motorcycles!

I once did 480 miles in a day, I thought that was much
It's really good to hear that many feel comfortable on the VTR.
Maybe this specific bike will me mine soon! What do you think about it?

seat to footpegs
I am 5' 10'' and on long rides the short distance from seat to footpegs is on the sporty side and can be a bit uncomfortable, but great for aggressive riding on serpentine roads. Don't some of you tallboys feel a little cramped?

If you think the the VTR is cramped, don't ever try a supersport.. I have done 400+ mile days w a friend on his ZX6R.. He is folded like a pretzel all day and he is a fair bit shorter than I. (I am 5'11")

I guess i'm the oddball, as usual. I'm 6'4" with a 36" inseam. I love the bike, but hate the fit from the waist down. I'm actually selling it right now because of this. My knees can't take anymore abuse. If i'm on the bike for half a day, as I like to be, it's a painful dismount. I don't mind being stretched out, but it's a poor match to the cramped legs.

I'm 5'8" and pretty comfortable on it; it feels a bit big for me. The PO told me he was selling it because he had a bad knee and it bothered him to ride it. It's been a year and a half but my memory seems to put him at around 6'.
I like the color and the highmounts. Is that a C/F hugger? Have the CCTs and/or rectifier been replaced?

I think the VTR is about as perfect as you can get with respects to ergonomics and size. Its fast off the corners, turns like a scorched cockroach, is plenty light, and handles well at speed with no steering stabilizer.
Its ridable going long distances, unlike many race replicas, yet it makes a good racing platform.
