What was your first bike?

First bike I rode was a mid '70's Yamaha 125 enduro. Wasn't completely mine, so the first bike I actually truely owned was
(it was ~20 years ago, and obviously didn't care about safety equipment back then. Yeah, I look like a dork with track shoes and the 'butt cut', but it was a fun road bike. Laugh it up!). It was a 197x Honda CB450. Can't remember the exact year.

I seriously think they were. The back tire looked just the same, dry rotted and bald as Homer Simpsons head. The previous owner was riding almost daily on those too. That video was shot within the first few days of me getting that bike.

Never owned anything until 2,5 years ago, where I got my first 1989 Hawk GT. Restored it to a bad *** orange beauty which I loved and always will no matter what.
That bike brought tears to my face for selling it, but I just had to get my hands on its bigger, yellow-er brother, last February. From Hawk to SuperHawk

honda cb360 was before I had my license. Not sure of the year. My dad got it for free and had it running good for a little while. Developed an electrical problem and got rid of it. Used to be a field beater for me and rip up and down my aunt and uncles long driveway.
First one legally on the street was 86 Kawasaki zx600.
Only dirtbike was a 81 Suzuki DS100.

First bike was a Ninja 250. Great starter bike.
When I decided I was getting a bike, I had NO IDEA how to ride. I bought it and the salesman took it to my parents' house. I was 19, still at home. I yelled, "Dad!! I bought a bike!! Will you teach me how to ride?!?" Response, "No way in F*&%$#!@ H3LL!! That was the dumbest thing you've ever done!" I said, "Fine, I"ll figure it out myself!"
I sure did figure it out...I made it 9 miles and figured out how to get to the emergency room.

1991 Suzuki Bandit 400.
My dad and I first test rode one at Bike Week in Daytona, back in 1994 (I think), and I fell in love with it. The local Honda shop just happened to have a used one with 3k miles on it...
My dad set up a payment plan with the local Honda shop in North Carolina. I was to pay $275 per month for one year, then it was all mine.
I only made about $300 per month, so I had just enough left for gas...

The first picture is after I put clubman handlebars on it (hard on the wrists, but turned WAY better). The second picture was taken by my best friend, while on the back, in Chicago right after Navy boot camp (1995). No helmet law, and we were young and stupid.....
*This is not including the bikes I had as a kid... This was just the first bike I actually owned.

1986 Yamaha FZX700 Fazer (and daughter back in the day, not me lol)
Saw one turn in front of me at an intersection and knew I'd own one right then. Awesome bike. Sold it to my brother thinking I'd get to keep riding it anyway...nope sold it. Probably 12 years before I found myself getting a "deer in headlights" deal on my hot off the showroom floor 2005 Superhawk. Love it more every time I ride it.

22 years ago so cut me some slack!! 1st street bike:
'91 zx-6 bought brand spankin' new. Factory pipes came off pretty quick and the carbs were thoroughly worked w/ individual k&n filters. Yosh pipe, ignition advancer yadda yadda. She was a screamer.
Until that lady turned left right in front of me and a buddy:
Didn't look real bad but what you can't see is the frame welds @ 2 spots were totally separated.

1990 Yamaha Route 66. It was a 250cc, vtwin cruiser that would have been hard pressed to even reach the 85mph max speed limit on the speedometer.
Still, for a guy who had just lost his license for speeding and had to file what was called SR22 insurance back then (proof of insurance, before everyone had to have it), it was perfect. Got north of 70miles to the gallon too. Sold it when I upgraded to a Honda Shadow 600, and have owned several bikes since.
