For Mom

kickenchicken996 lost his Mom recently and I lost mine in Feb. '01.
I just thought I'd take a minute to say 'thanks, Mom. We wouldn't be us without you.'
Mine showed more dignity in her last week then I'll be able to in my entire life.
To you, Mom. the most important person in my life.

How true. this weekend was the 1 year point after my mom died. If you are lucky enough to have a good parent, it is very painful - because they were so important. Nice thoughts and sorry for kc996 - life is never the same after that point but the sadness dulls over time.

My dad passed away when I was only 8 so my mom is even more important to me. My grandmother will be 85 next month and in good health still - so I'm hoping my mom inherited some of her genes.

sorry to hear of kickenchicken996's loss.

My Dad died when I was ten. Heart attack on the Doctor's doorstep. It's like throwing a stone in a calm pool. The ripples touch all aspects of your life. It's true that it dulls with time but it never goes away. Dealing with mortality as a child is an incomplete work. My Mom will be 90 this fall. As an adult you realize it is an incomplete work until it's your turn.

Sorry for your loss kc996 and everyone else too. I'm really close with my folks and try to spend as much time with them as I can while I can and I'm basically scared $hit of having to deal with that one day.

Thanks guys,. It ******* sucks, no way around that...hell I caught a tear just reading this,,,,Thanks....lol...but I know that there are two things in life that we have no choice in...Death and taxes...so we man up, and deal with it...Mom was the best, well ok she was good, you could not ask for a better one...I used to chat with her almost everyday, or no more than 2 days went by, as she lived in AL, and I am always moving around...I was not finished learning, I didn't even realize it at my age, but she still had stuff to teach me..Since I have never lost anyone close to me before, it was the toughest thing I have ever had to deal with...

Bottom line, if you were fortunate enough to grow up with good parents, cheerish every moment you get to spend with them, or talk to them, even when you are bored out of your mind...Cause right now I would give most anything to be able to pick up the phone and say "hey mom what you up too?" Ok, I am done now...oh wait , just for the record....I love you Mom!! Now go call your momma's!!!!! and tell them the same thing!!

Wow I just saw this, haven't been spending as much time online lately. Sorry for your losses guys, I really do fear that day, it was hard enough losing my grandparents,(my grandfather was my last one and he died just a few months ago). I'm very lucky to still have my parents and that they live just a few minutes away so they can see thier grandchildren grow up.
